Thanks to all our new fans! This page is an effort to support the long-standing set of carts significantly affected by Covid shut-downs.

Where MANY food cart pods are thriving with takeout becoming the norm., my friends at 4th & College street are hit hard by the closure of PSU and the remote working of the high tech fields that comprised of most of their business base.

Unlike many pods, they do NOT have many residential areas nearby to support them. They are barely hanging in there, many have folded. The food delivery services take a LAGRE cut of the plate cost. They need our support to go put shoe leather on the street!

The up side? Great food, large portions, low prices! Wonderful people who put heart into their food in search of the American dream!

Let's help them out! Make a stop by today to grab lunch or dinner!

Most of the carts are closed on Sundays since they served mostly to business and student groups! Have a great day and see you Monday for more delicious, plentiful food!

I was sent home with these jewel-like samples of Persian baklava (pronounced bog-lava) versus the Greek form (pronounces bok-lav-ah) most of us are used to.
I pull off the carrier lid and inhale the scents of rose and saffron, they start their seductive game immediately.
I have never eaten anything quite like it so I find it hard to describe Not overly sweet, just sweet enough. Soft cakey-layers starting with saffron on the base, I don't know what the orange layer is except "good", a thin layer of ground pistachios and some sort of slightly crunchy almond-rosewater tasting layer encased by flakey, thin pastry.
Overall not only a wonderful treat, but it somehow feels very exotic. Better than a coconut drink with an umbrella for taking you to somewhere in your imagination.
It will be sold by the pound at Persian Kabab, Halal Mediterranean food, you can call ahead at (971) 533-2644.

Let's face it. Some day I go, get 4 dishes with the plan to reheat them for later meals. And it's always a treat to open my refrigerator and know I have great food with minimal effort ahead of me!

Today's lunch is from Persian Kabab and is the large chicken breast and lamb kebabs. Lemony, saffron-earth notes, juicy tender meat and rice. This is NOT all I was served, just what I was re-heating.

Served with lemon and generous sides of fresh piquant mint, cucumber, tomato/onion and tzatziki.

Persian Kabab, Halal Mediterranean food, call ahead at (971) 533-2644.
