Sing Me A Story A professional development workshop: enliven and strengthen your programming with song.

A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY-BASED WORKSHOP FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS AND CHILDREN’S LIBRARIANS WHO WISH TO ENLIVEN AND STRENGTHEN THEIR PROGRAMMING WITH SONG. THROUGH THE POWER OF SINGING WE CAN FOSTER A SENSE OF BELONGING, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING, LANGUAGE ACQUISITION, AND EARLY LITERACY SKILLS! Sing Me A Story delves into the connection between singing (music and movement) and th

e acquisition of early literacy skills, language, and social/emotional health and learning in children. Participants practice skills in leading songs, learn about the science of singing, explore methods for working with diverse groups, and delve into resources to help employ more music in their programming with confidence.

Sing Me A Story is thrilled to be speaking at the 2025 Reading Roundup Conference in Augusta, April 3rd! In partnership with Maine State Library, this informative and interactive gathering brings together those serving youth in Maine schools and libraries.

Sing Me A Story: How Singing Supports the Whole Child and Early Literacy Skills will be in the 3rd session of the day. No singing experience needed!

I had such a great visit to last week. Do you know this amazing organization? Their Welcoming Library offers (nationally) “curated collections and conversations to celebrate the diversity of the modern migration, resettlement, and new generation experience” and can come to your school or library. I’m excited to get more familiar with these books.
