👏 Celebrating the people who make a difference for students every day!

At our latest Board of Trustees meeting, Porterville High School and Citrus High School recognized four outstanding staff members whose impact can be felt across their campuses.

🐾 Porterville High School

⭐ Maggie Echeveste was recognized for leading our Academy of Health Pathway, creating meaningful real-world experiences for students and building strong connections with staff and community partners.

⭐ Dolores Cavazos was celebrated for the kindness, positivity, and care she brings to PHS each day. As she prepares for retirement, her colleagues shared just how much her welcoming presence and dedication to students will be missed.

🍊 Citrus High School

⭐ Maite Alvarado was recognized for the relationships she builds with students, particularly those who need additional support, helping them develop plans for graduation and their futures beyond high school.

⭐ Marcus Camarena was celebrated as a true team player who steps into whatever role is needed, from teaching and tutoring to mentoring, coaching, and supporting students throughout campus.

Congratulations to Maggie, Dolores, Maite, and Marcus, and thank you for the many ways you continue creating opportunities and changing lives. 👏

🇺🇸 Today, Porterville Unified School District joins communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

25 years later, we continue to honor the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who demonstrated extraordinary courage and compassion in the face of tragedy.

We remember those we lost. We honor those who answered the call. And we reflect on the unity that brought our nation together.
