🐊 STOP 1: BRAZOS BEND STATE PARK• Nature Center Discovery: The heroes learned all about alligators and local creatures! 🧠 🦎• Alligator Hike: We hit the trails and discovered so many gators along the way! 👁️🐊
🐸 STOP 2: KLEB WOODS NATURE CENTER• Pond Dipping: We scooped up and analyzed the tiny creatures living in the water! 🧪🐟• History Tour: The heroes toured the original Kleb house, barn, and homestead—even finding a decaying windmill hidden in the forest! 🛖💨• Wild Encounter: The biggest excitement of the day was spotting a Western Rat Snake crossing our path! 🐍🤠
🏹 STOP 3: JESSE H. JONES PARK & NATURE CENTER• Pioneer & Indigenous History: We toured the Redbud Hill homestead and the Akokisa Indian village! ⛺🌲• Hands-on Skills: The kids seeded cotton, fluffed it, and spun it into thread! 🧵🌾• Crafting & Chores: They peeled bark for tools, tasted fresh garden mint, made clay pots, and even washed clothes on an old-school washboard! 🧼🌱🍯What an educational and adventurous day! 🎒💪
🪵 STOP 4: LAKE HOUSTON WILDERNESS PARK• Up-Close Encounters: The heroes loved exploring the nature center, with a special treat of petting a hognose snake and a baby alligator! 🐍🐊• Rainy Fire Building: Despite recent rain and damp fuel, our heroes successfully built and started a campfire—no small feat! 🔥🌧️• Campfire Feast: We celebrated with roasted hot dogs and marshmallows! 🌭🍢• The Grand Finale: Of course, the absolute best part was swimming in the creek! 🏊♂️💦
