Congratulations to Jasmier Starr, for winning the Zondervan Award for Excellence in Biblical Hebrew for 2026.
Jasmier tells us : "I am a senior pursuing my Bachelor’s in University Studies with emphases in Psychology and Social Work. I plan to join the Master’s program for Social Work after graduation. This is the path that God has called me to, and I plan to do it while spreading the love of Jesus."

The Religion Program is proud to announce that the Zondervan Award for Excellence in Theology has been awarded to Jacob (Jake) Handler.
Jake tells us "I am honored to be receiving the Zondervan Award for Excellence in Theology for 2026. I have just completed my Bachelor's of Applied Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Religion.
My studies began as a leap of faith pursuing a major that was away from my typical path in the world of theology and religious studies in a comparative nature. I have been fortunate to read, analyze, and dissect religious texts from across cultures such as the Qur'an, Torah, Talmud, Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, and multiple translations of the Bible. With my degree, I am actually pursuing continued education back in my original degree plan of a Master's of Business Administration primarily for my current occupation with the government with the desire to eventually work towards my Masters of Divinity following my M.B.A's completion where I can hopefully enter the world of academia and teaching at the higher education level. I would also like to thank Dr. Rollinson and the ENMU History / Religion staff for teaching me valuable lessons, skills, and opportunities that I will take into my future careers and studies."

The Religion Program is proud to announce that the Zondervan Award for Excellence in Biblical Greek has been awarded to Aidan C. Donahue.
Aidan tells us "I am taking a Bachelor's in University Studies, with emphases in Religion and Music, so that I can attended seminary, hopefully at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, to follow the calling that God has given me in the pastoral field of ministry. Recently married, I am hoping to have a family soon, and enter into work as a pastor in New Mexico serving the Lord in whatever way he wishes."

Home Schoolers, Teachers - Free textbooks available in the ENMU Library :
Would you like to have your own copy of an elementary, middle school, or high school mathematics textbook? Stop by the Golden Student Success Center to pick up FREE textbooks. The K-12 Instructional Resources Collection in the Golden Student Success Center is a Regional Evaluation Center for the Instructional Materials Bureau of the New Mexico Department of Public Education.
Publishers sent these materials to us six years ago so that area teachers could evaluate them for classroom use. We have new mathematics textbooks to place on the shelves this summer, so these older books must go to make room.
The grade levels of the items range from kindergarten to grade 12. We have general mathematics textbooks, as well as algebra, calculus, geometry, and statistics. The materials will be downstairs on tables between Einstein’s seating area and the reference desk from Saturday, May 2, to Friday, May 8th.
Please bring bags or boxes to place items in. There is no limit on the number of items you can take.
This offer is open to ENMU and the broader community.
Please share this information with others interested in kindergarten through grade 12 educational materials.

News from Colton Brewer, BS Religion major, 2013 :

Thankful to have been examined this morning (Feb. 10) by the North Texas Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church In America and be approved for ordination as a minister of word and sacrament.
I'll be ordained and installed as a pastor at Trinity Presbyterian in Plano on February 22nd.
Looking forward to serving Christ's church for many years to come!

Please take care of stray cats, dogs, and the wild birds during this time of bitter freezing weather. They have no water to drink unless we provide it.
I'm putting metal bowls with water by my front and back doors, and changing them several times a day, as they freeze solid in a few hours. Also bowls of dry cat chow in sheltered spots by the front and back doors. From the tracks in the snow I can see that lots of birds come, and also several cats.
For those of you who are going to try driving your car - thump the hood several times before starting the engine, in case any cats have crawled in by the engine to keep warm.
I leave the garage door cracked open so that strays can get inside the garage for shelter.
