Last night I was made aware of a potential nationwide school threat. There is “tiktok” trend that is nationwide called “Lick December 17.”

Law Enforcement agencies across the country have investigated this including the FBI. These threats have been found NOT to be credible and is likely an attempt to get schools closed a day early for Christmas break and to cause alarm.

With that being said, we take every threat toward our students seriously even if that threat doesn’t seem to be “credible” and there will be an increased police presence on or around the campus throughout the day until dismissal.

I believe every big heart deserves a big reward. So this morning, I presented Maddi White and Cayleigh Manning with $495.80 to go toward buying supplies to send to the victims of the devastating tornado from December 10. Maddi and Cayleigh will be transporting the supplies to Mayfield, Kentucky. When these girls could be doing anything else with their time, they are choosing to focus on helping those in need.

The money donated is what was left over from yesterdays Shop with a Cop.

25 children from the Portageville School District participated in our 3rd annual “Shop with a Cop/Hero.” Each child was allotted a $225.00 spending limit. They bought toys, clothes, coats etc. Afterwards they were treated to lunch at Pizza Inn.

We would like thank the Portageville Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Portageville City Administration and Portageville School District for helping put a smile on these kid’s faces.

As always, thank you, the citizens for making this all possible. Your donations and support means the world to these kids.

Most of you have been wondering what happened to the stickers on my car. Since I am a DARE instructor and WE are the Portageville Bulldogs, I created a custom design that I feel matches perfectly with being a bulldog, police officer and a DARE instructor. I was going to do a big reveal at the Christmas Parade on Friday, but with the very high chance of inclement weather moving in I wanted to go ahead and reveal the new design.

Thank you to the Portageville Jaycees for the donation of 500.00 to our Shop with a Cop program. The Jaycees has been a huge supporter of this program and has worked hard to organize fundraisers throughout the year.
