๐Ÿ HAV Families, We Are Officially Back! ๐Ÿ

We are excited to officially be back and getting ready for another great school year at the Hive!

Please join me in welcoming our Super Secretaries to the front office! Tammy Campbell is back and ready to go, and we are excited to welcome Meghan Mahardy, who is new to the Hive this year. We are lucky to have this team supporting our students, staff, and families!

As we get back into the swing of things, our entire team will be participating in professional development on our new Skyward system, called โ€œQ.โ€ Because we may be in training throughout the day, please call the office before stopping by to make sure someone is available to help you.

We are also still learning some of the new system, including the email features, so thank you for your patience as we get everything up and running.

We are excited to see our Hornets and kick off another amazing year together. The Hive is back! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’›

What a great way to connect over the summer! Nearly 200 Haverhill Hornets and their families came together for an awesome night at Zap Zone tonight!

A HUGE shoutout to Mr. Burton and everyone who helped make this event possible. We are also incredibly grateful to the many local businesses and community partners who sponsored tonightโ€™s event. Your generosity and support helped provide this opportunity for our Hornets and their families. We are so fortunate to be part of a community that continues to show up for our Hornets! โค๏ธ

As we wrap up another incredible school year, I wanted to let our know that I am officially off until August 10th! โ˜€๏ธ

While I will continue to check my email and ClassDojo periodically, it may take me a little longer than usual to respond.

My plans include spending countless hours on the golf course and working in my garden, and I'll be sure to share a few updates and adventures along the way! โ›ณ๐ŸŒฑ

I'd love to see what our Hornets are up to this summer as well. If you'd like to share your adventures, feel free to email photos and updates to me at [email protected].

Most importantly, enjoy this time with family and friends, make great memories, and READ EVERY DAY! ๐Ÿ“š

And don't forget... IXL is available all summer long for a little extra practice! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!

Today, we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

While President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, news of freedom did not reach all enslaved people immediately. On June 19, 1865, more than two years later, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people were free. This day became known as Juneteenth, combining the words "June" and "nineteenth."

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation's history, celebrate freedom, and recognize the ongoing work of building a more just and inclusive society. It also reminds us of the importance of education, understanding, and learning from one another.

At Haverhill Elementary, we value the diverse experiences and perspectives that strengthen our school community. As we continue to learn and grow together, we encourage our Hornets to celebrate the principles of freedom, equality, and respect for all.

you for your continued support.

,

What an incredible day! Today was our first-ever Play, Paint, and Celebrate Day, and it was a huge success!

Students spent the day enjoying fun activities, making memories with friends, and sharing lots of smiles and laughter. This special event was made possible by the creativity and hard work of our amazing teachers, along with the support of several wonderful parent volunteers. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make this day so memorable for our students.

To wrap up the celebration, our 2nd graders got to "paint" their teachers as a reward for being the top grade level during our Hustle Fundraiser. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic day and provided plenty of laughs for students and staff alike!

Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We hope you enjoy this video highlighting some of the fun from today!

Today, I had the privilege of working alongside seven amazing students who served as "Principal for the Day" at Haverhill!

These student leaders spent the day handing out Buzz Cards, recognizing and praising positive behavior, supporting students in the cafeteria and on the playground, helping during every recess, and assisting with our schoolwide Fun Day activities. They took their responsibilities seriously and represented our Hive in a tremendous way.

We even squeezed in a Chick-fil-A lunch and held two official staff meetings to discuss important topics such as walkie-talkie etiquette and keeping their lunch workroom clean. Needless to say, they had plenty of opinions and ideas to share!

I couldn't have asked for better teammates. Their leadership, enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to help others made a positive impact throughout the entire day.

Thank you to our student principals for an incredible day. The future is bright at Haverhill! ๐Ÿ

๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ Last Friday, our students enjoyed a well-earned Super Soaker Reward after successfully meeting our school-wide behavior challenge.

This challenge was designed to encourage safe, responsible, and respectful behavior in the cafeteria and on the playground- two places with many opportunities to practice making positive choices. Over the course of the challenge, students worked hard to follow expectations, show kindness, solve problems appropriately, and demonstrate self-control during lunch and recess.

Students were rewarded for their efforts by getting a chance to spray their recess supervisors, Ms. Flenorl and Mr. Zonts, with water! There was plenty of laughter, excitement, and school sports as everyone got in on the celebration! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฆ
