When the August 11 derecho tore through Portage, it did not just hit a few spots. It hit everything.

Lake Shore Camp Resort (the old Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park on Old Porter Road) asked us to come out and capture what happened, so we flew the property and built a full 3D model of it.

What you are watching here is a video flythrough of that model. You can follow the damage from the front gate all the way back to the lake. Snapped trees, damaged units, debris, blocked roads. All of it in one continuous pass.

The video is the easy part to share. The model itself does a lot more.

In the actual model we can spin the property to any angle, zoom in on a single site, pull measurements straight off it, and calculate volume on debris piles. That last one matters right now. If you need to know how many cubic yards of downed timber are sitting on your property before you call a hauler, we can tell you without anybody dragging a tape measure through it.
