Our recent journey through Asia was a dynamic mix of experiences—adventure, incredible food, and of course, jewelry. We visited the third-largest gem and jewelry show in the world, the Bangkok Gem and Jewelry Faire. In Hanoi, we took a local class to learn the intricate art of traditional Vietnamese filigree.

Learning a jewelry technique in a foreign setting is always interesting; everything is a little different—the tools, the technique, the approach. This experience was no exception. The torches were fueled by airplane fuel! Apparently, this gas is the choice because it is odorless. Paired with a bellows to inject air, these torches offer an amazing amount of control, once you figure it out.
