Honoring the Past, Building What's Next

This week, demolition of the Lincoln Building begins - a moment years in the making for Port Townsend.

Over the past year, more than 500 community members and alumni walked through Lincoln's halls one final time, sharing stories and memories from its 132 years as part of our community. Most recently, alumni returning for Alumni Weekend gathered on June 14th for one last memorial visit before this summer's demolition.

Thank you to everyone who came out to say goodbye: your stories are part of what makes this building's legacy worth preserving, even as its walls come down.

What's ahead: a renovated PTHS and a new home for OCEAN K-12 School, built for the next generation of Port Townsend students. With the building gone, the newly built terrace will take its place, offering unobstructed views of the Strait of Juan De Fuca.
