FREE books delivered right to your door from the New World's Reading grant! https://www.newworldsreading.com/en/enrollment/

There's nothing quite like curling up with a good book 📚, and reading at home is one of the most powerful ways to support your child's success across all subjects—from reading and math to science and beyond! Students who read regularly outside of school truly shine in the classroom.

We're passionate about helping families build a love of reading together. When children have easy access to books at home, something magical happens 💫. They develop stronger skills, discover new worlds, and grow into lifelong learners.

That's why we're excited about the New Worlds Reading Initiative (NWRI)! This program provides free books and reading resources delivered right to your home for eligible students in Pre-K through 5th grade. If your child scored below the 40th percentile on a recent reading progress monitoring assessment, they may qualify for this wonderful opportunity.

Want to learn more or think your child might be eligible? Complete the form below. 💙💛 Together, we're building confident, successful readers, one story at a time.

Well… look who decided to enroll at Morningside today! 😂🦎
Thanks to all the rain, one little lizard apparently decided the school hallway looked much cozier than the great outdoors!
Luckily, Mrs. Jones’ Lizard Release Crew was on the case. 🕵️‍♀️🦎 The students happily helped their unexpected guest make the journey to its new home in our beautiful butterfly garden. 🦋🌿
We love seeing our Blue Jays show kindness to all of Morningside’s visitors, even the tiny, scaly ones! 💙🐦🦎
Another successful day of reading, writing, math… and lizard relocation! 😂

🎯💦 September Attendance Champs Take Aim! 💦🎯
At Morningside Elementary, attendance pays off… and sometimes it gets a little messy! 😆
Students who achieved ZERO absences and had 3 or fewer tardies during the month of September earned the opportunity to participate in a special attendance celebration by launching water balloons at Principal Forman, Assistant Principal Wigginton, and School Counselor Mrs. Gorman!
From perfect aim to lots of laughter, our Blue Jays had an unforgettable time celebrating the importance of being present and on time each day. 📚⏰🎈
We’re incredibly proud of these students for their commitment to showing up, being ready to learn, and making every school day count. Keep up the great work, Blue Jays!
💙💛 Every Day Counts at Morningside! 💦🎉

💗🎀 Morningside Goes Pink! 🎀💗
Today, our Blue Jays showed up and showed out in pink as we joined together to raise awareness for those impacted by breast cancer. From bright pink shirts and bows to colorful accessories and smiles, our campus was filled with a sea of pink and a powerful message of hope, strength, and support. 💕🦋
Breast cancer has touched the lives of many families, friends, and loved ones. By participating, our students learned that even small acts of kindness and awareness can make a big difference in supporting others.
We are so proud of our students, staff, and families for helping spread love, encouragement, and awareness throughout our school community. Together, we stand with survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and support those still fighting. 💪💗
Thank you, Blue Jays, for wearing your hearts on your sleeves and your pink with pride! 🎀🐦
💗🎀🦋💕💪

🧸📚 Learning is Better with a Buddy! 📚🧸
Today, our Blue Jays had some extra-special classmates join them for a day of learning…their favorite stuffies! 🐻🦊🐶🐨
From reading lessons and math practice to science investigations and classroom discussions, these cuddly companions were right by their side every step of the way. Students loved sharing their learning with their furry friends while practicing important skills, building confidence, and adding a little extra fun to the school day. ✏️✨
The smiles were endless, the hugs were plentiful, and the learning never stopped! ❤️ We loved seeing our classrooms filled with creativity, excitement, and lots of fluffy faces.
At Morningside Elementary, we know that learning can be both meaningful and memorable. Today was a perfect reminder that even our stuffed friends can help make school a magical place! 💙🐦
