I didn’t realize how much more space I needed in my notary journal until I had an appointment that required 32 notarizations.

Yep. Thirty-two.

One in-person estate planning appointment. One couple. Two witnesses. And 32 notary stamps.

I filled out my journal page and ran out of room. So there I was, reaching into my notary bag for a blank sheet of copy paper to continue recording the additional documents, the notarial acts, and who signed what. Then I stapled that sheet to the journal page.

Afterward, I thought, “This probably won’t be the last time this happens.”

That experience led me to create the Additional Notarized Documents — Journal Entry Extension Sheets.

If you use The Notary Education Group journal with preprinted document titles, these sheets give you extra room when your appointment includes more documents than the entry can accommodate. They attach at the top of your journal entry and fold back so you can still view the original page.

If you prefer our journal without preprinted document titles, that layout offers more open space to write out your documents and notarizations. Depending on the appointment, that may be all the room you need.

That’s why I create these resources. I use them, discover where I need more flexibility, and turn those experiences into practical tools for other notaries.

So now you know. You have options.

You may have noticed that our previous web address used “grp” as an abbreviation. As TNEG continues to grow, we wanted our website address to fully reflect our name — The Notary Education Group.

Nothing else has changed. Same organization. Same commitment to quality notary education. Just a web address that makes it a little easier to find and recognize us.

Our previous website links will redirect you to our new domain, but be sure to update your bookmarks!

Sometimes the hardest conversations we have as professionals aren't with other people. They're with ourselves.

I remember when I first started feeling something I wasn't proud of.

After I began building my own academy, it seemed like my social media timeline was suddenly flooded with announcements from new notaries launching academies, mentoring programs, and coaching businesses. Every day, there was another post celebrating a new beginning, another invitation to join a course, or another announcement introducing someone as a mentor.

At first, I found myself becoming irritated.

That bothered me because welcoming new people into our profession has always been important to me. I genuinely believe there's room for growth, education, and opportunity for those willing to do the work. So why was I feeling this way?

I had to ask myself a difficult question:

**"Am I becoming jealous?"**

The honest answer was no.

Their success wasn't taking anything away from mine, and my own business continued to grow. What I eventually realized was that I wasn't struggling with their enthusiasm—I was struggling with the thought that people might not recognize the difference between experience and enthusiasm.

In a world where social media rewards visibility, I wondered whether years of learning, ethical decision-making, continuing education, and real-world experience were becoming harder to distinguish from simply being highly visible online.

That realization changed my perspective.

The issue wasn't the people.

It was the difference between **noise** and **signal**.

Having a business and providing a service is not the same as knowing how to conduct business.

Many people can start a business, but not everyone understands the importance of professionalism, communication, client relationships, and proper business etiquette. Those are the skills that help you earn trust, retain clients, and build a reputation that leads to referrals and long-term growth.

Without strong business etiquette, you may be able to get the business, but keeping it—and growing it—is a completely different challenge.

The goal of most entrepreneurs isn't just to operate a business; it's to build one that grows and scales over time. If you're content with simply operating your business, that's your choice. But if your goal is to elevate your professionalism, strengthen your client experience, and position your business for sustainable growth, I invite you to enroll in my **Professional Etiquette Course** .
In this course, you'll learn practical skills that every service-based professional should master—from communicating professionally with clients and handling difficult situations to creating an experience that keeps customers coming back and referring others.

Everybody wants to go direct... until they realize what comes with it.

Higher-paying assignments are appealing, but working directly with title companies is about more than performing a notarization. It requires organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to follow instructions from start to finish.

In my latest blog, I share why higher pay comes with higher expectations, what changes when you begin working directly with title companies, and the mindset needed to succeed at that level.
