From the Classroom to the Real World: Social Skills in Action 🍽️✨
Yesterday, our Teen Social Group took an important step beyond the classroom and into a real-life setting at Olive Garden.
This group is conducted by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), Mayra Sotero, ensuring that every activity is structured, intentional, and designed to promote meaningful skill development.
Throughout the experience, students practiced the skills we’ve been working on over the past weeks, including:
• Ordering food independently
• Using polite and clear communication
• Practicing turn-taking and conversation
• Waiting appropriately
• Making choices within a set budget
More importantly, they learned how to navigate a real-world environment with growing confidence and independence.
Moments like these are where learning truly comes to life — when students are able to apply their skills in meaningful, everyday situations.
We are so proud of their progress and the effort each one of them put into this experience 👏
