Another successful library day! Just a little late to celebrate Valentine’s Day! This old lady loves to read the Old Lady books! The dollar tree hat painted last minute was a huge plus, who doesn’t love a good prop?

After the read aloud, there were many requests to wear the old lady’s hat!

Former First Lady, Barbara Bush, was an incredible supporter of literacy. The George and Barbara Bush Foundation supports family literacy programs with amazing resources! Free books through the family support to read on line!

AI is cool and all, but without strong reading skills that lead to critical thinking skills, we are stuck! You need to be able to know when AI has it wrong as it often does!

Today was the first meeting of my Zoom Book Club with 8th graders... We are reading "I am Malala". We meet every Monday at 7:30, read for 30 mins then have quick discussion. When we finish the book, we are going to celebrate with lunch at Olive Garden!! I had 9 girls tonight (2 even brought their moms!).

I supplied the books to borrow and even sent extra home to share with their moms!

HUGE success!!! I am excited to read and discuss this amazing book!

Thanksgiving Read Alongs... Mia the Reading has at any given time at least 500 books in her car!! Gotta stay ready to read!!!

Mia the Reading Mermaid was invited for Story Time and what an amazing time! We had sensory bins - water beads, and snow— course they were filled with hidden shells!

I also had the opportunity to put a brand new book in the hands of 70 children!!!!
