Today is the day! 🎗️🏃♀️💜
We are so excited to participate in the 3rd Annual Tori Rose 🌹 5K today! This event is incredibly special to our hearts as we honor the life, legacy, and strength of Tori Rose.
Tori was a student of Mrs. DeRoy for several years, and the two shared a very close and meaningful relationship. Since Tori’s passing from pediatric brain cancer, Mrs. DeRoy has dedicated her time to supporting the Tori Rose Foundation alongside Tori’s parents and family, helping to continue Tori’s legacy and raise awareness for children and families impacted by this disease.❤️🌹❤️
Today, we run in remembrance, in celebration, and in support of a cause that means so much to us. ❤️🌹❤️
We are grateful to be part of this amazing community and can’t wait to see everyone out there! Tori Rose Foundation Inc.

Our lower school students had so much fun with a watercolor salt painting activity today! 🌸🎨🧂 They explored how salt absorbs and spreads the paint to create beautiful spring designs while combining art, science, and hands-on learning. ✨

💙 TEACHER SPOTLIGHT 💛
✨ Meet Kate Strobel✨
Hi! I am Kate Strobel, and I am finishing up my 12th year as an educator. I am currently living and teaching in Philadelphia, PA, and finishing up my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Temple University. I have been working with Bright Futures Lab "virtually" for several years now, but was originally a part of their in-person cohort of teachers when I was living in Florida. I relocated to be closer to my family and love the changing seasons, with the ability to travel to some really cool places in the Northeast. My favorite part about being a teacher is inspiring kids to be lifelong readers. As an avid reader myself, it makes me incredibly happy to see current and past students picking up books for fun!

💙 TEACHER SPOTLIGHT 💛
✨ Meet Alice Lunt ✨
Hi! I’m Alice, and I am a tutor here at Bright Futures who works with students in PreK–2nd. I bring over 34 years of experience in education and hold a Master’s degree in Special Education.
Throughout my career, I have taught both general education and special education across PreK–5, supporting a wide range of learners and needs. During the day, I am an ESE Staffing Specialist at my school, where I support students with varying exceptionalities specializing in Autism, and collaborating with teachers and families to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
I enjoy building meaningful relationships with my students by creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident, capable, and excited to learn. There’s nothing better than seeing that “aha” moment when a child truly understands something new and starts to believe in themselves.
Outside of work, my family is everything to me. I’ve been married for 27 years to my amazing husband, and I am a proud mom to two amazing kids. I’m a cat lover and a big Disney fan! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, laughing until my stomach hurts, and getting creative with activities like painting ceramics.

Our students had an exciting presentation day showcasing their Early Day projects! 🤖✨
Each student designed and built their very own robot using recycled materials—proving that creativity and innovation can go hand in hand with caring for our planet. 🌎♻️
As part of our unit on inventions, students are learning not only how things are created, but also how we can reuse everyday items in meaningful and imaginative ways. We’re so proud of their hard work, problem-solving, and incredible ideas! 💡

✈️✨ This week, our homeschool group launched an exciting new unit all about invention and ideas—and the creativity is already soaring!
Our upper school students explored the science of flight by designing and testing their own paper airplanes, learning firsthand how innovation takes shape through trial, error, and imagination.
Meanwhile, our younger learners got busy building their own creations using popsicle sticks and tape—proving that even the simplest materials can spark BIG ideas!
We love watching our students think outside the box, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life. This is just the beginning of a fun and inspiring unit! 💡🚀
