The 2nd Annual WORDS ON THE WATER PRO SONGWRITING WORKSHOP is set for Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, 2024 in the charming and inspiring town of Port St. Joe, Florida.
A special sunset Welcome Reception is planned for Thursday, Feb. 29, with the intensive workshop starting Friday morning. There will be a special arts and music event at The Joe Center for the Arts on Friday evening, and a student jam and song-share on Saturday night. All levels of experience are welcome and our professional mentors will work with everyone.

This majestic fellow appeared above our venue and stayed to listen for a while. Hmmm ...
"When an eagle appears, you are on notice to be courageous and stretch your limits. Do not accept the status quo, but rather reach higher and become more than you believe you are capable of. Look at things from a new, higher perspective. Be patient with the present; know that the future holds possibilities that you may not yet be able to see. You are about to take flight.
If eagle has appeared, it bestows freedom and courage to look ahead. The eagle is symbolic of the importance of honesty and truthful principles. Summon the eagle when you are about to embark on a challenge, a massive life change or a creative endeavor."

"WOTW was the best retreat I have ever been to. Drop the mic! You're all just top of the charts to me. I so enjoyed coming to Port. St. Joe and learning from and hanging with Donna and Jerry and Rick. Having you pull up your sleeves and dig-in with us writers was simply priceless. I loved all the insight into your process. And everyone who attended was so dang talented. Finally, the concert and the sing-around were the sugar in the sweet tea :-)"

Our mentors performed a free concert as a benefit for the local arts center ... the The Joe Center for the Arts. Our workshop songwriters had VIP front row seats!
While Donna, Rick and Jerry performed, local artists created original pieces based on the lyrics they were hearing. Those pieces were auctioned to raise money for The Joe. What a night of art and music!
