Our fourth grade classes enjoyed some fun hands-on learning today. They conducted science experiments by investigating how leaf structures help plants survive in their environments. They also explored the external structures of animals to determine their habitats. Science experiments are a fun way to learn about our world!

We are celebrating our summer readers with a trip to the book vending machine! These students completed the PRES summer reading challenge or the Beaufort County Library summer reading program. Way to go Abigail, Henry, Bria, Aaliyah, August, Berk, Mila, and Westin!

Our school counselor, Mrs. Young, works with classes to help adjust to a new school year. Today she joined Mrs. Harley’s first grade class during their morning meeting. She read a story about how to name emotions. Fifth graders played a game to get to know more about each other.

Our first Crew day of the year is in the books! Our crews welcomed students new to our school and kindergarteners as they selected red, blue, green, or black to signify one of the four crews. Congratulations to the newest Captains, Commissioners, Engineers, and Navigators!

Our Port Royal Elementary students jumped right in today, getting to know each other and learning about our classroom expectations. It's so exciting to see our Mariners welcoming new students to our school.
