🎨✨ Painting Outside the Lines! ✨🎨
In our Ones classroom, the fun of painting doesn’t stop on the paper! Sometimes our little artists become the canvas, too! 😂🎨 From painting hands to getting a little creative on our faces, we’re all about exploring, creating, and having fun!
And we couldn’t help but notice that one of our little artists ended up looking just like the character from A Bad Case of the Stripes! 📚🌈😂 How fun is it to have our very own book character right here in our classroom?!
Our Ones are always finding fun, silly, and creative ways to make learning memorable! 💕🎨

🦎🐍 Our schoolers had an exciting time exploring, discovering, and learning all about reptiles with Dunn Dee Farms! From getting up close with some amazing animals to learning fun new facts, it was definitely a day to remember! 🤩
But the BIG question is… Would you have a tarantula on your head?! 🕷️😳

🌸 **Little Hands, Big Discoveries!** 🌸

Our Ones had so much fun exploring the **smells and textures of flowers**! 🌼 They used their senses to smell, touch, and explore the petals before getting creative by pulling them apart and gluing them onto paper to make their very own **flower petal masterpieces!** 🎨🌸

Learning through our senses makes every little discovery extra special! 💕

We kicked off our 2026–2027 VPK school year with full classrooms, big smiles, lots of laughter, exciting learning, and the beginning of some very special friendships! 💕📚✨

✨ Learning happens everywhere—even at home! ✨
Our twos practiced their fine motor skills by using simple materials like cut straws and pipe cleaners to create a fun stringing activity. These little hands were working hard to build hand strength, coordination, focus, and problem-solving skills all while having fun!
Looking for easy ways to practice fine motor skills at home? Think outside the box with items you already have! Try stringing Cheerios onto string, dropping Cheerios into the opening of a water bottle, using tongs to move small objects, or creating your own hands-on activity with everyday items.
The possibilities are endless! We encourage our families to get creative, explore together, and turn everyday moments into fun learning experiences.

Creativity comes to life through art! Whether children are scrubbing paint across paper or creating colorful masterpieces with paint daubers, they are doing so much more than making art. These hands-on activities strengthen fine motor skills and hand muscles, encourage creativity, and provide opportunities for self-expression. Every brush stroke, dab, and swirl helps children build the confidence and skills they'll use for years to come—all while having fun!

At New Horizons, learning comes in so many exciting ways! From jumping and building gross motor skills, to exploring file folder games, enjoying pretend “shopping dates,” and creating through art, our classrooms offer a wide variety of engaging activities designed for every child.
Each experience encourages creativity, independence, problem-solving, and skill development while allowing children to learn through play. We believe every moment is an opportunity to explore, grow, and discover something new!

🐞🫧 Our twos had a bug-tastic time exploring sensory play! They used large play bugs, shaving cream, and paint brushes to practice “cleaning” their little critters. This fun, messy activity encouraged imagination, sensory exploration, and fine motor development as children brushed, scrubbed, and discovered different textures.
At New Horizons, we love turning everyday play into meaningful learning experiences where children can explore, grow, and have fun! ✨
