Bethany Lutheran School and Early Learning Center Bethany Lutheran serves children from 3 years through 8th grade excellence in education with a Christ centered focus.

Founded in 1976 to provide Christ-centered Lutheran education and academic excellence for members of our church and the surrounding community to meet the needs of the child as a whole: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. Our Early Learning Center opens at 6:30am and closes at 6:00pm. Extended care is available for our elementary school students during those same hou

rs. Bethany offers full and half day options for both preschool and Kindergarten. We also have a class for 2-5 year olds together with their caregivers. We are part of the The Evergreen Lutheran School System which operates Evergreen Lutheran High School in Tacoma. Bussing is available from Bethany's parking lot.

So cool to drop a car load at Trillium Women’s Center this morning and another at Coffee Oasis this afternoon, all donations from Bedtime Books at Bethany!
Tomorrow is the last of our summer series!
We have about 300 backpacks with lots of variety so kids can pick their own!
Every family will also go home with the pair of read alouds and every child chooses one more book from our Book Buffet.
Bring shoes, new or great condition, for unhoused kids in SKSD.
ASL provided!
And SK Foods is bringing hot food, CORN DOGS!!

Charleigh is a WORLD CHAMPION 🥇🇺🇲🥋

The thing you should know about Charleigh is she believes in everyone.

But, back in May, when Charleigh received her letter from AAU inviting her to represent the USA at the WUKF World Championships in Romania, it almost felt impossible.

"I'm only a brown belt... am I really ready for a World Championship?"

"Why would they pick me?"

"I don't think I'm ready and I don't think I can be ready by July"

Then there were questions about the cost, the travel, and even whether she was ready.

The girl who believes in everyone, didn't believe in herself.

What she didn't realize at first was she didn't need to because her community did. Her family, her coaches, her teammate, her classmates, her church, her friends, her city, her county did.

Our community rallied behind Charleigh and made the opportunity possible. Family, friends, teammates, local businesses, and so many others believed in her dream before she ever stepped onto the plane.

And Charleigh repaid that belief the best way she knew how, by putting in the work. She trained with purpose, fought through her doubts, and stepped onto the world stage determined to represent Team USA, Haruki Karate, and Kitsap County with the same character that inspired so many people to believe in her in the first place.

One of the best examples was during training in the week before she left.

One of our younger students looked up at her and asked, "Do you think I could go to Worlds someday?"

Without a second of hesitation, Charleigh smiled and said,

"Of course."

That's who Charleigh is.

Even when she struggled to believe in herself, she never stopped believing in others.

And last week, she proved that impossible dreams really can come true.

Charleigh is the 2026 WUKF Kobudo World Champion. 🥇

Congratulations, Charleigh!! Thank you for reminding all of us that you can work incredibly hard, face your biggest doubts, and still never lose the joy that made you fall in love with karate in the first place.

We are proud of the World Champion you've become, but even more proud of the person you've always been!
