Our second week of Summer Camp was Garden Time. On Day 1 students planted flower seeds to observe at home, made prints from scribble art on foil, and enjoyed a trip to see the flowers and vegetables in the Community Garden.

On Day 4 of Space Summer Camp we learned about the stars. Kids made star bead bracelets and galaxy sticker pictures. They also had fun looking at planets through a water "telescope".

Noah's Ark Preschool has lost a dear friend. Judy Nelson was the former Preschool Director and teacher at Noah's Ark for many, many years. Some of our current parents who attended Noah's Ark will remember her as a kind, funny, caring and compassionate teacher. She was a wonderful boss, mentor and friend to the whole staff. Mrs. Nelson cared deeply about the Preschool and did her best to help it grow and serve the community. She impacted the lives of hundreds of Port Orchard children and families as she taught, supported and helped them prepare for kindergarten.
Please join Noah's Ark Preschool in honoring and remembering Judy Nelson on August 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 at a Celebration of Life Open House reception at First Lutheran Community Church. We will share refreshments, preschool memories and special stories about Mrs. Nelson. All are welcome!

Summer Camp weeks were so fun I want to share more!
Space Camp Day 3 focused on the moon. Campers stamped in paint with crumpled tinfoil to decorate a circle shaped moon. They also had fun making straw rockets; rockets were blasting off all through the room! Kiddos also enjoyed working their fine motor skills to unwrap tinfoil covered letters.

Our Summer Camp weeks were so fun! Here are some Day 2 pics of Journey through Space. Students colored paper towels to look like Earth/planets and misted them with water to see the colors blend, played with sparkly playdough, explored fizzy planet science and enjoyed the rocket ships. For snack everyone painted their bread circle with colored milk to look like our Earth.

Our first day of Journey through Space Summer Camp was full of fun learning! We read about planets, made beautiful galaxy art with paint and marbles, and explored our "Space Station".
