Creative Child Daycare

It was a slow week for attendance but not for keeping them busy! Crafts included banners and painted wood shapes, learned how todo hand shadows, made spectroscopes, visited playgrounds and 7-11!

Teaching the kids the Girl Scout way… leave it cleaner than you found it! Kids picked up a lid full of trash at Clayton Park today!

A short week but squeezed in learning to play marbles and jacks, water fun, and a trip to Clayton Park.

This week was all about Pets. Kids made diamond painting cat and dogs, watercolor fish bowls, Pet Blocks, watercolor portraits of their pets, and finished the week celebrating Solies 1st Birthday! All this plus hours of outside fun. Warning…Big photo dump ahead. I’m sure you’ll notice a few non smilers, you know it’s not cool to smile! 😂😂

Today is bitter sweet one. Bitter as it’s Penelope, Clymer, and Bridger’s last day. It’s sweet because we’ll see all 3 again in the fall!!

What do you do when you kick your shoe over the fence and the neighbors aren’t home?? You and your friends brainstorm and problem solve for over 30 min. Then….success!!!

Day one of full day summer care is over. It will take a bit to adjust to 12 hr days again but looking forward to keeping 10 great kids busy for the next 10 weeks!

Today we went to the Manchester library to become a honorary members of the Manchester Chicken Squad! Then we couldn’t leave without spending some time at the beach.

Last Wednesday was a very rare day. I had all 11 kids in attendance at the same time so had get a quick pic before heading off to school.

It absolutely warms my heart when former daycare kids stop by for a visit. Friday, Drew came by with his baby girl and I was so busy gawking at her that I forgot about pictures! 🤦‍♀️. Today I was surprised by a visit from Grayson and I remembered to get a pic! Think he’s grown some? 🤣🤣

For a few days we welcomed back 2 CCD alumni for a visit. Zachary moved away 2 yrs ago and Sophie moved last June. It was nice seeing good friends back together again 🥰. Should have taken pics before they used the face painting pens 😂

It was all Legos for Spring Break! Started by building deserted islands for their character to become stranded on and I gave challenges all week for kids to build survival and comfort features, painted with legos, made lego zip line carts and tested them , video in comments, played lego tower board game, made backpack tags with lego dots, a few got creative and made a lego marble maze and a lego hangman game. We also used up some craft supplies, gave the playroom a good cleaning and I introduced them to one of the tv shows I watched at their age! Check the pic to see if you know 😊 Ended the week with a visit with Miss Emily from Snapology in Gig Harbor. She did an amazing and very fun workshop building Pokémon balls and characters from legos. A fun but long week and a good warm up to summer!

A little role reversal this morning. Instead of Solie and I dropping kids off at school, the kids and I are dropping Solie off at school! 😍

My favorite Friday morning arrivals!! Bridger, Clymer, and mom Nell swing by Starbucks every Friday to personally pick up our coffee order!! 🥰🥰

This week was half days due to school conferences. We began prep for a new fairy garden and cleaning up play area, got bikes out, played outside, did a few crafts.

Today we sang happy birthday to Grace who turns 9 tomorrow. Happy birthday Grace!

Miss Nia came to spend the day with me! She made Lucky Leprechaun Lookers and used them to find gold that the leprechaun dropped 😍.

Today Ben is 🔟 and just like that we have another double digit dude! Happy Birthday Ben!!!

Was cleaning the playroom and found all the pencils are just stubs. I think someone might really like the pencil sharpener!! 🤦‍♀️

Another February birthday… today we celebrated Clymers 6th birthday!!
