Tomorrow is the first day of school, and for the first time in 40 years there is no need to set an alarm! Kinda liking this retirement thing 😊😊

Saturday was the celebration of my retirement. Although there aren't many pics, the memories and emotions of that day are deeply embedded in my heart. A steady flow of kids, parents, family, and friends stopped by to offer their congratulations and best wishes.

It was wonderful to see "my kids" as adults and learn about their lives and journeys but the true highlight was the sharing of memories which brought both laughter and tears. Memories of pancake Wednesdays, going to my mom's house, breaking a window, summer sledding, learning to ride a bike, Mr. Lynn's Mac and cheese are great but it was the little memories i didn't know about that touched me the most, like still hearing my voice as they spell word I taught them, or think of me every time they hear someone say “me and my friend” instead of “my friend and I”, my well known pet peeve! 😊.

I will be forever thankful for all the kind and touching words, cards, flowers, and gifts I received but even more so, I am filled with gratitude and love for the relationships and bonds that have truly filled my life!

After 39 years and 265 kids, Creative Child Daycare is officially closed for retirement! Grace was the last child to leave and it was not easy to say goodbye 😭

It’s my tradition to celebrate it up big on the last day of school. This year’s situation was a bit different with only 1 child today so I invited our grandkids and their friends to a celebration at Clayton Park. Such a fun afternoon and kids loved being treated to cotton candy from SugarBear Cotton Candy!

Today’s is retirement day and it got off to a touching start. Doorbell rang at 7:30 which confused me since I don’t have kids this morning? Soooo surprised when I opened the door to see Jordan and James, former DC kids!! They brought me a coffee to start my last day! 🥰🥰🥰
