The Calhoun FFA Agricultural Mechanics program is excited to begin another season of FFA Agricultural Mechanics Build-Off competitions, and our students are ready to put their welding, fabrication, teamwork, problem-solving, and safety skills to work!
Build-Off competitions give students the opportunity to take the skills they learn in the classroom and apply them in a real-world setting. During these events, teams are given a project and a limited amount of time to measure, cut, weld, fabricate, and complete the project from start to finish.
As our Build-Off season begins soon, we are looking for community members and local businesses interested in sponsoring a Build-Off project.
How Sponsorship Works
Your sponsorship would:
Cover the registration/entry cost for a Calhoun FFA team to participate in a Build-Off competition.
Help provide our students with an authentic, hands-on career experience.
Support the continued growth of our Agricultural Mechanics and Welding program.
Allow students to represent Calhoun FFA and our community at competitions across the area.
Best of all—the sponsor receives the completed project built by our students at the competition!
Past Build-Off projects have included items such as BBQ pits, picnic tables, fireboxes, and other metal fabrication projects. Each competition provides a new challenge and gives our students an opportunity to demonstrate their skills under real-world time constraints.
Our Build-Off competitions will be starting soon, so we are currently looking for sponsors for the upcoming season.
If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring a Calhoun FFA Build-Off team, please complete the Google Form provided. We will contact interested sponsors with additional information.
Your support provides much more than an entry fee—it gives our students an opportunity to learn by doing, develop career-ready skills, compete as a team, and take pride in creating something with their own hands.
