It’s almost time for the 2026 Calhoun County Fair Junior Livestock Auction!

Our FFA and 4-H exhibitors have put in countless hours raising and preparing their projects, and now it’s our community’s turn to show up and support them! Every bid and add-on helps reward their hard work and can go toward college expenses and next year’s projects.

An investment in our youth is an investment in Calhoun County! Please come out, bring your friends, and help us make the 2026 Junior Livestock Auction a RECORD YEAR!

Please SHARE and help us spread the word!

Let’s hear it for our Greenhands! 💚💚💚
Jayme Barnes, Paisley Gibson, Emma Garza, Doris Guerra, and Gracelyn Grant stepped outside of their comfort zones and took their first big steps into the world of FFA today at the FFA Gulf Coast Greenhand Camp! 💙💛
These ladies made new friends, learned about Career Development Events, Leadership Development Events, speaking events, and Supervised Agricultural Experiences, and most importantly, began discovering all the opportunities FFA has to offer.
We are so proud of each of you for stepping up, getting involved, and embracing this new adventure! 💙💛 We can’t wait to watch you learn, grow, lead, and make memories throughout your FFA journey.
Welcome to FFA, Greenhands! Your journey is just beginning! 🌱🐄

🔥 1st Build-Off of the Year is in the Books! 🔥
Cameron Bazan, Ayden Zamora, Blake Brown, and Brayson Thuman braved the Texas heat in Hearne as they took on the challenge of building a shooting table at the Bremond Build-Off.

With only 6 hours on the clock, the team had to cut, prep, tack, weld, and finish their project while working under the pressure of time. These build-offs are about more than just welding—they test resilience, teamwork, safety, problem-solving, and skill.

We are incredibly proud of the effort these young men put in and the way they worked together to get the job done!

A special thank you to our sponsor, Lester Contracting, for supporting our team and to Bridget Brown for generously paying for the hotel room. Your support means so much to us and helps make these opportunities possible!

We’re excited for the upcoming build-offs and look forward to watching this team continue to grow in teamwork, confidence, and skill. 💪🔥

Our Calhoun High School Ag Mechanics students are preparing for another successful year in Build-Off competitions!

This group doesn’t just learn, they apply craftsmanship, problem-solve, and work as a team every single day.

As they prepare to represent Calhoun in the 2026-2027 school year, they are needing to sell a 5-foot box blade, built entirely by our talented team members for💲4️⃣5️⃣0️⃣.

If you’re interested in supporting these students and their journey, contact Heidi Tran ([email protected]) for more details!

The Calhoun FFA Agricultural Mechanics program is excited to begin another season of FFA Agricultural Mechanics Build-Off competitions, and our students are ready to put their welding, fabrication, teamwork, problem-solving, and safety skills to work!

Build-Off competitions give students the opportunity to take the skills they learn in the classroom and apply them in a real-world setting. During these events, teams are given a project and a limited amount of time to measure, cut, weld, fabricate, and complete the project from start to finish.

As our Build-Off season begins soon, we are looking for community members and local businesses interested in sponsoring a Build-Off project.

How Sponsorship Works
Your sponsorship would:

Cover the registration/entry cost for a Calhoun FFA team to participate in a Build-Off competition.
Help provide our students with an authentic, hands-on career experience.
Support the continued growth of our Agricultural Mechanics and Welding program.
Allow students to represent Calhoun FFA and our community at competitions across the area.
Best of all—the sponsor receives the completed project built by our students at the competition!

Past Build-Off projects have included items such as BBQ pits, picnic tables, fireboxes, and other metal fabrication projects. Each competition provides a new challenge and gives our students an opportunity to demonstrate their skills under real-world time constraints.

Our Build-Off competitions will be starting soon, so we are currently looking for sponsors for the upcoming season.

If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring a Calhoun FFA Build-Off team, please complete the Google Form provided. We will contact interested sponsors with additional information.

Your support provides much more than an entry fee—it gives our students an opportunity to learn by doing, develop career-ready skills, compete as a team, and take pride in creating something with their own hands.

Thank you for supporting Calhoun FFA, Agricultural Education, and the next generation of skilled tradespeople. We greatly appreciate the continued support our community gives our students and program.

🏁 Racing into Leadership! 🏁
Today, FFA Officers Laney Leos, Lillyan Brown, and Madisyn Cossey are proudly representing Calhoun FFA at the Gulf Coast District Leadership Conference!
Throughout the day, these students will be “racing into leadership” as they participate in a series of engaging workshops designed to strengthen their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. They will bring these valuable ideas and experiences back to help make our chapter even stronger.
We are proud of these young leaders for investing in their future and representing Calhoun FFA with excellence. Best of luck today—we can't wait to hear what you learn!
