100 # Axle for reps.

So it’s been 4 weeks to the day since my strong man comp.
The plan was take one week off 😕🙄. Here we are 4 weeks later. I decided the beginning of this week to start back on strong man training and accomplished one day (Monday-Squats), with work, weather and just over all laziness I decided enough. Spent all night telling myself “Tomorrow is heavy OHP day, no excuses.”
So here it is. Feels great to press again.

Viking Press- approx. 250-260lbs in hand. 4sets of 6 reps.

First set was 3 with a 170 # stone. No video.
This video was 2nd set with 197 # stone.
Last set was 4 reps with 209 # stone (video for that is in comments.)
Getting ready for that 240 # stone in the comp.

Got a new toy today. Had it made. There’s a few measurement flaws on my part. But it’s an 2” axle bar that weighs 100lb with tires on. Can add as many plates as I need.

If I’m gonna compete in strong man comps, then a 500lb dead lift (at minimum) is a must. I’ve neglected dead lifts for many years now, and it’s been 10 years since I’ve pulled 500lb for 2 reps during training. I convinced myself that, not only was I gonna train in this heat, but I was gonna pull at least 495lbs today.
Mission accomplished.

It’s been about 2 years since I’ve had 405lbs on my back. Plus a new rack and bar. So not too bad I’d say 🤷‍♂️
