Before Chromebooks, Smart Boards, and Wi-Fi passwords… there was the AV Crew. 😎

These students were basically the original IT department—delivering projectors, tape recorders, and whatever other high-tech equipment a classroom needed. And yes, knowing how to work the projector probably made you the most technologically advanced person in the building.

A pretty important role in the days when “technology” looked a whole lot different than it does today.

Back-to-School ✏📙
Ed Heuer Elementary and John Edwards Middle/High School faculty are looking forward to another great school year! Please take the opportunity to stop by your child's school during our back-to-school nights.
This is a great night for elementary students to drop off their school supplies, explore their classroom, and meet their new teacher!
For middle and high school students, it's a chance to practice their locker combinations, drop off their supplies, and walk through their course schedule.
The Food Service team will be hosting a free dinner in the cafeteria at both buildings. They will be serving hot dogs or brats, chips, cookies, and lemonade. Make sure you stop in to grab a bite to eat!

Our students have the opportunity to partner with Mid-State Technical College through the Dual Credit program with John Edwards High School.
Students in grades 9–12 can earn college credits at no cost while gaining valuable experience and getting a head start on their future.

Construction Update 🏗

Our contractors are still busy working in the hallways and classrooms at Ed Heuer Elementary.

Meanwhile, crane work at the MS/HS started this week as steel girders are being set for the new chiller and generator that will be located on the roof.

A lot is happening behind the scenes, and we’re getting closer and closer to seeing these improvements come to life!

Our incoming 5th graders got a sneak peek at middle school today! They explored the building with a fun scavenger hunt, getting familiar with their new surroundings and meeting teachers and staff along the way.
A HUGE thank you to our Middle School Student Council for stepping up and leading your peers around the building! You did an awesome job making everyone feel welcome and showing them the ropes.

🎉 The countdown is on! We're excited to welcome our newest Blackhawks to 5th Grade Orientation on Tuesday, August 11, from 9:00–11:00 a.m.

This student-only orientation is the perfect opportunity for students to get comfortable before the first day of school! During the morning, students will:

👋 Meet our amazing middle school staff
🗺️ Explore the building through a fun scavenger hunt
🏫 Learn where everything is before school starts
⭐ Be welcomed and guided by our outstanding Middle School Student Council members

Our goal is to help every 5th grader feel confident, comfortable, and excited for the school year ahead!
