I CURRENTLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING UPCOMING OPENINGS:
2 - FULL TIME/PART TIME
Full time 32 - 45 hours per week.
1 - PART TIME/FULL TIME (Precedence will be given to a full time need.) Part time 12-31 hours per week. My full name is Elisabeth Dean. I have the kids call me Lissa (Lys-sa). I am a stay at home mom looking to baby sit for families out of my home during the work week. I am 31 years old. I
am married. Brian and I have been together for approximately 12 years. We have two boys, Nicholas & Benjamin, who are 5 and 3, and a daughter, Heidi, who is 1 year. I currently have 2 full time children during the school year, ages 3 and 6 months. Brian is a Registered Nurse and works in the Operating Room at Riverview Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids. I have many years of child care experience. If you count the fact that I am the second oldest of 9 children, I've been baby sitting and caring for children for almost 20 years. I have an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy and worked for 5 years with children with special needs. I feel this gives me a perspective on play, learning and caring for children that a lot of other child care facilities cannot offer. Our home is set up well for children. We have all major items: lots of toys, games and movies, a large fenced-in back yard with play set and many outdoor toys. We offer child-friendly meals and snacks. We have a park down the block that we frequent. We love to play games, sing, dance, snuggle and be silly! MY ASSISTANT:
Holly Cassiani is my sister. She is 38 years old and has 25+ years of childcare experience. She has been working as a CNA for the last 10 years and has worked in various settings. Including, but not limited to, assisted living for the mentally and physically handicapped, assisted living for high behavioral geriatric and in a nursing home settings. She assists me when I have a high volume of drop in care children. LOCATION

What’s special about us?:
We are a family-style care environment. What does “family-style care” mean?:
It means that at any given time I have children in my home of multiple age-ranges. Just like your children are siblings together and are different ages with one or two authority figures, our home will have children of different ages in it with an adult to watch over and care for them. Do you accept State Assistance Funds?:
All though I have taken the Childcare courses through Mid-State (I can provide a copy of my transcript if you would like) I am not state licensed nor county certified. I do this because I enjoy kids and it’s a way for me to make a little income for my family. Because I am not licensed or certified, I cannot accept state, federal or county assistance funds. I provide drop in services solely for people who wish to not have to call into work when their regular care provider is unexpectedly unavailable. For full time families I keep my rates very low, saving them hundreds of dollars per year over what they would receive as a childcare tax credit. Do you offer your services “on the books”:
I do not. However, this is why my rates are low. Licensed and certified childcare centers, as well as baby sitters who watch children “on the books” charge anywhere to $125 - $160 per week for full time childcare services. I only charge $110 per week. This is an automatic savings of anywhere from $780 to $2,600 per child per year. For one child, the State of WI tax credit is 4% of what you pay your care provider. Want an example? If you have a 2 year old which you take to a facility that charges $140 per week for 52 weeks, this would only be a tax credit of less than $300. I can save you up to $1200 more per year. As always, if you need licensed and certified care, I can help you find resources! Do you charge for days not used?:
For the most part, no. Do you need an appointment day? A vacation day? Maternity Leave? Summer leave? Vacation? No problem.
-Your appointment days/single vacation days: If you are full time, you are able to come Monday through Friday between the hours agreed upon. If you come between 32-45 hours in any given week (no matter how many days you attend) you will be charged your weekly rate of $110. If you attend 31 hours or less, you will be charged $3/hour per child.
-Your pre-arranged vacations: Will not be charged.
-My vacation days: You will not be charged.
-Your sick days: You will be charged for a 1/2 day ($11/child)
-My sick day: You will not be charged. What does "BACK UP/DROP IN CARE" entail?:
For children ages 18 months – 12 years. Back up care: Is your regular sitter going on maternity leave? I can substitute for you. Is your regular sitter on vacation? Sick day? Snow day? You got it. I am not your “regular sitter” I am the back-up sitter. Drop in care: Is for stay at home parents or parents who work casually who may need someone to watch their children for a few hours a few times a month to complete appointments and errands. It is not typical to see my drop in care kids more then 5 times per month. Who does Before and After School Care apply to?:
School-aged children ages 4 - 12 years old who need care before and/or after school. Anywhere from thirty minutes of care and up. This is an ideal situation for parents of 4-K students who need care outside of their 2.5 hours per day in the program. It is also ideal for parents of students where the school day does not cover care needed outside of your work hours. Your child must be able to be bussed to and from school from my home -OR- your child must be able to walk or bike to/from school on their own. Can my child be bussed from your home?:
I am within the Port Edwards School District and my house is located in their bussing zone. Your child(ren) can also be bussed from my home to the WRACS district or to Immanuel Lutheran from my home. You must be a resident of Port Edwards to be bussed to/from my home. Lamer’s will bus a non-Port Edwards Resident to and from the Port Edwards Schools, Lutheran Schools, and the Wisconsin Rapids Area Catholic Schools for a yearly fee. (Lamer's 715-421-2400.) If you do not live in Port Edwards and your child needs to be bussed to the Wisconsin Rapids School District or the Nekoosa school district, I ask that you contact the local bussing company to see if this is a possibility. Wisconsin Rapids and Port Edwards use Lamer’s Bus Line. Rome, Grand Rapids, Saratoga, Nekoosa and Rudolph use Safeway Bus Line. How many children do you take on any given day?:
Our adult to child ratio is 1:8 depending upon ages. All children are over the age of 18m. Rarely will we have more than 4-5 children per adult on site. CONTACT INFORMATION
