Hello! This page is officially closed, as I have retired after 34 years of teaching. I was fortunate enough to teach in the best district around, which supported many of my ideas—The BEACON being my pride and joy. It is my hope that the IS’ at PCHS will continue with the mantra of The BEACON:

Surprise! So this happened today. To say I am lucky is an understatement. I have been blessed with a great career in a great school district (all 34 years in Port Clinton). I have had super supportive administrators and wonderful colleagues who I look up to and respect as both educators and human beings. I also have been fortunate to work with the best Inclusion Department (English/Lang Arts: Karen, Ty, Jim, Joe, Sierra) for the last 24 years. And—ultimately—I have the MOST PHENOMENAL colleagues in my department: Scott, Adam, Diane, Bobbie, and Kathy. I have no idea what I would have ever done without all of you. You are the epitome of Team Players and Professionals who put kids first. This really has not been “a job.” This has been an adventure! Thank you, ALL, from the bottom of my heart, for being YOU.

This is representative of my colleagues. Each one at PCHS has their own strengths, talents, and unique way of reaching students—both on academic and social-emotional levels. I can only hope that I have had at least a fraction of the impact that they have had on me. I have been so fortunate to have learned from these amazing educators!

Had the honor of listening to Jim Wright of interventioncentral.org This was the BEST RtI/MTSS professional development I have ever attended. Educators and IAT leaders—if you have not checked out this website, do yourself a favor and take a look. There are so many benefits to MTSS.
