Yesterday I convinced returning client Marvin and his friends from OH to change our charter from perch to walleye. Good choice as we were able to get some really nice walleye relatively quickly. Now we did have to make a run to the spot I've been fishing in the last few charters but aside from burning fuel it pays off with a fantastic bite.

The program today... 8 Dreamweavers (4 per corner) pulling assorted spoons at 0, 1, 2 and 3 setting all at 75' port & 65' starboard leads at 2.1 mph in 42-52FOW. Also ran 6 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 120', 110', 100', 90', 80' & 70' leads. The PWC Lites took all our fish...Dreamweavers only took 2 fish the whole day.

ATTENTION: JOB Fishing CHARTERS still has a few prime dates available for the 2026 Fall Derbies but they are filling up quickly!!!

My favorite time of year is quickly approaching as the temperatures will start to drop and the giant migrating walleye start to move back into the area just in time for the Lake Erie Fall Brawl and the Fall Walleye Slam!!

Both of these fishing derbies run from October 17th through November 29th and JOB Fishing and the crew is signed up for both tournaments and will offer charters on both Dardevle (Weldcraft) or Irish Mist (Lund) throughout the entire tournament (weather permitting). DARDEVLE DOES HAVE A HEATED CABIN!!

If you are not familiar with these two tournaments, I highly recommend you go to the two links below to read the tournament rules and register for both if you plan on fishing Lake Erie Walleye during the above dates. These tournaments have HUGE prizes and cash payouts (including tricked out walleye tournament boats) for a small entry fee and they are open to anyone including kid divisions. They are both running different signup parties now until registration closes which also include large raffles.

Walleye "Fall Brawl" LLC

Walleye Slam
https://www.walleyeslam.com/

Please note that one of the main rules for both tournaments is that for a fish to be eligible everyone on the boat (including captain and first mate) has to be registered in the tournament. And yes, a single fish can be weighed and is eligible in both tournaments.

I am only planning on running one charter per day during the tournament so I have a limited amount of available charter dates, and they will book fast. Please contact me if you have any questions on either the tournaments or my charter special 407-505-9151.

Yesterday I fished with first time Lake Erie, first time walleye fishing and first-time clients Amanda and her father from PA. Second walleye of the day was 1/4" short of a Fish-O. I'm amazed at the size we are catching especially for this time of the season. Almost like an early fall bite! The walleye size is definitely making up for the perch size...lol We fished same spot using the same program as the previous charter.

Fantastic grade of walleye today for first time client Jonathan and his sons from MO. We pushed off at 6:30am and headed NE about 22 miles. We trolled at 90 degrees for about 10 minutes until we started a nice steady pick of 21" to 26" walleyes for about 6 miles until we were done.

The program today... 8 Dreamweavers (4 per corner) pulling assorted spoons at 0, 1, 2 and 3 setting all at 70' port & 65' starboard leads at 2.0 mph in 44FOW. Also ran 4 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 110', (2)100' & 90' leads. The Silver Streak Minis Spoons (3 1/4") took the better fish and majority of the fish today.

Beautiful day for returning client Sam from OH. We launched out of Mazurik at 6am and headed up to the east side of South Bass Island as Sam wanted to cast today. We moved around to several spots and finished the day with about an hour and a half of trolling PWC Lites behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards. Sam did not want to keep fish, so we released as we fished.

Today I fished with Chris and his son from OH in the Lund. Chris wanted to bring his son out fishing on Lake Erie for his birthday. We launched out of Mazurik at 8:30am and head east to my previous spot from the last 2 charters. While I was running, I notice a ton of marks up high in the water column, so I decided to raise up all my PWC Lites and it was the right decision. We had all their fish in 45 minutes from lines in and fished for mine as well with only landing 2 sheepshead the whole day.

Program today was 8 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 100', 80', 60' & 40' leads in 44FOW. Most of the fish came on the 4 higher baits at 60' & 40' leads.

Aside from the smoke we had a great day fishing with returning client Matt and his crew from OH. We pushed off at 6am and ran to the second spot from the previous day except we started about 4 miles north and troll south to the spot. We did boat some walleye but the sheepshead were a little thick until we got to our spot. Once we got down to the spot is was wack'em & stack'em.

Same program as the day before except we raise our baits a litte higher... 8 Dreamweavers (4 per corner) pulling assorted spoons at 0, 1, 2 and 3 setting all at 70' port & 60' starboard leads at 2.1 mph in 44FOW. Also ran 6 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 100', 80' & 60' leads. The PWC Lites took the better fish again today.

Well we found a spot that had nice walleye and less junk fish today for first time client Terry and his family from OH. We pushed off at 8am and headed down towards Huron and started in 30FOW and trolled NE to about 40FOW. We caught some nice walleye but the white perch would not leave us alone so I decided to pick up and run about 5 miles NE until we started to see active marks. Before I could even get one side of Dreamweavers set the walleye started hitting fast. It took almost an hour for me to get all the lines back out.

The second spot program was 8 Dreamweavers (4 per corner) pulling assorted spoons at 0, 1, 2 and 3 setting all at 80' port & 70' starboard leads at 2.1 mph in 44FOW. Also ran 6 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 120', 100' & 80' leads. The PWC Lites took the better fish today.

Day 2 for Jimmy and the guys from MI. We struggled today trying to keep off sheepshead off the lines. In fact I lost count but we had to have boated at well over 60 and we hit several locations. I tried different baits, different depths, different speeds and different directions but nothing I tried kept them from attacking our lines.

Program today...was pretty much what ever I had in the boat it hit the water...lol Aside from the junk fish we did have a beautiful day on Lake Erie.

Had a great day on Lake Erie today with first time clients Jimmy and friends from MI. We pushed off at 6am and headed directly to the weather buoy. We set up and trolled down the line heading west. We boated some really nice walleye, but we did have to sort through a lot of sheepsheads again.

The program was 8 Dreamweavers (4 per corner) pulling assorted spoons at 0, 1, 2 and 3 setting all at 85' port & 65' starboard leads at 2.1 mph in 44FOW. Also ran 6 PWC Lites with 2oz in-line weights behind Off Shore Tackle Company planer boards at 120', 100', (2)80', 60' & 40' leads.
