It was a rainy but fun day at the Lower Hudson PRISM
July meeting! We got to bioblitz and learn new gear and techniques and learn about ticks! And I got to see Ashlee and Corey who just graduated and hear all about their big kid jobs! (Thanks Corey for the pic!)

Do you think extra signage will get folks to stay on the trail this year? We are trying to get the word out!

We were lucky enough to get funding from the ENV department to send three students to the ReLeaf Conference last week, which is all about urban forestry and had a lot of sessions related to the Community Reforestation grant program. They learned so much that we will put into action in our big Commons project!!!

Actual goats are adorable and wonderful... But we realized this area needed a little more help so now we have a mechanical goat - literally called a Billy goat brush cutter. This mower will help us chop up the woody debris that the actual goats left behind.

Learning so much and loving connecting with new and old friends here at the Association of Field Ornithologists conference in Rhode Island! Sometimes I feel removed from the bird world with so many land stewardship projects going on... But my heart always comes back to these bird nerds

Delighted to visit the Broadview at Purchase College garden with the summer technicians. We got to see all the biodiversity that can grow when you install a sturdy deer fence (vs our garden where we let the deer graze but sometimes they like a plant a bit too much).
