🙏 Come Spend an Hour With Jesus

In the quiet of Eucharistic Adoration, there is no agenda and no need for the right words. Simply come and be with Him.

St. Charles Borromeo is blessed to offer Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, giving us the opportunity to spend time in the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament …day or night.

Bring Him your prayers, your worries, your gratitude, or simply your silence.

Consider making a weekly Holy Hour part of your life. And if it’s been a while since you’ve visited the Adoration Chapel, perhaps today is the day to come back. 🤍

🕊️ Mass Intentions | August 31 – September 6

As we enter a new week, we invite you to join us in prayer for those whose intentions will be offered at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

We remember the deceased, pray for the living, and entrust each intention to the loving mercy of God. ✝️

“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” — James 5:16

Please keep these intentions, and one another, in your prayers throughout the week.

✝️ This Sunday’s Gospel | Matthew 16:21–27

Jesus does not promise His disciples an easy road. Instead, He tells them plainly:

“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”

The Christian life is not about avoiding every hardship or choosing only what is comfortable. It is about trusting Christ enough to follow Him, even when the road is difficult, even when sacrifice is required.

Our crosses may look different, but the invitation is the same:

Take up your cross. Follow Him. Trust where He leads.

“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

🙏 Lord, give us the courage to follow You faithfully, especially when the way is hard.

August 28 🤎 | Feast of Saint Augustine of Hippo

“Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you!”

Saint Augustine knew the ache of a restless heart. He sought happiness in knowledge, ambition, pleasure, and the approval of the world, yet none of these could quiet the longing within him. Beneath every desire lay a deeper hunger: a longing for God, who had been seeking him even as he searched everywhere else.

His conversion was not the story of a heart abandoned by God, but of a heart patiently pursued. Through years of wandering, doubt, and resistance, grace continued to draw him home. At last, Augustine discovered that the Beauty he desired had never been far from him. God had been present in every longing, every tear, and every moment of awakening.

Saint Monica’s faithful prayers and steadfast love accompanied Augustine throughout his journey. For years, she entrusted her son to God, persevering through sorrow and uncertainty. Her life reminds us that a mother’s prayer, offered with trust and love, can become a powerful witness to God’s enduring mercy.

Together, the lives of Saint Augustine and Saint Monica remind us that no distance can exhaust God’s mercy. The Lord does not turn away from our restless hearts; He enters their deepest places and gently leads us toward rest in Him.

Today, may we bring the Lord our own unsettled desires and allow His persistent grace to transform them into a deeper love. May we also learn from Saint Monica to pray with patience and trust, believing that God is always working, even when we cannot yet see the fruit.

Saint Augustine, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, pray for us.
Saint Monica, mother of Saint Augustine, pray for us. 🙏

Praise be to God for generous hearts and a community that cares for our children.

🇺🇸 Pray for the Safety of Our Troops 🙏

Today and every day, we remember in prayer the men and women of our parish families who are serving our country.

May the Lord protect them, strengthen them, guide them, and bring them safely home to those who love them. May He also bring peace and comfort to the families who wait and pray for them.

If you have a loved one currently serving in the military and would like to add them to our prayer list, please send their name, rank, branch of service, and current station to [email protected].

🕊️ Lord, watch over all who serve. Be their strength in times of danger, their peace in times of uncertainty, and their constant companion wherever they may be.

Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for them. 🇺🇸
