Kingsway Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
We are so excited to welcome our students back! Dismissal time is busy, and student safety is our absolute top priority. Please carefully review the pick-up procedures below for tomorrow afternoon.
🏷️ Parent Pick-Up (PPU) Car Tags Required
All vehicles in the pick-up lines must display a valid PPU Car Tag (issued to approved guardians listed in the Focus Portal).
Missing Tag? If you do not have your tag, you must park and present a valid ID in the main office.
⚠️ Note: To ensure student safety during the dismissal rush, you may be asked to wait until the PPU line clears before your child can be released from the office.
🚗 Car Pick-Up Locations & Rules
🔹 K–2nd Grade (and Older Siblings)
Location: Front of the school.
Line Route: Line forms on westbound Quasar Blvd., starting at Loveland Blvd.
Timing: Cars may enter campus starting at 2:45 PM. The line begins moving at approximately 3:15 PM.
Reminder: Do not block intersections or the school entrance.
🔹 Pre-K, 3rd–5th Grade, & VE Classes
Location: Bus ramp on Alward St., extending toward Harold Ave.
Timing: The line will move only after all school buses have departed.
Reminder: Do not block the bus ramp entrance, rear parking lot, or any intersections.
⚠️ Important Safety Rule: Parking near walker areas to grab your child is strictly prohibited. All students departing by vehicle must be picked up in the official drop-off/pick-up lines.
🚶 Walkers & Bikers
Grades 2–5: May walk or bike home independently.
Grades K, 1st, & VE Classes: An adult must be present at the gate with a valid Walker Tag to pick up the student. No student in these grades will be released without a tagged adult present.
Parking Notice: Parking on the grass near the school is not permitted.
Exit Gates:
"Swamp Side" Gate (Front of School): Students are es**rted to the front gate.
"Bus Side" Gate: Students exit the bus loop doors and take the sidewalk to Quasar Blvd., where a crossing guard will assist them.
⛈️ Severe Weather / Rainy Day Plan
If lightning is detected within 10 miles at dismissal time, state guidelines require us to alter our procedures immediately for student safety:
Walkers & Bikers Held Indoors: All walkers and bikers will be kept inside the building.
Car Line Pick-Up: Parents of walkers/bikers should join the Parent Pick-Up (PPU) line in front of the building. (Please ensure you have a PPU tag ready for rainy days!)
Walk-Up Pick-Up Option (If unable to use the car line):
Bring your tag and go to the doors on the right side of the school.
Please wait outside (do not enter the lobby). A staff member will meet you, call for your student, and es**rt them out to you.
This walk-up option is strictly for families of walkers/bikers. All car riders must remain in the front car line.
