🇺🇸 Breakfast with the Brave! 🇺🇸 What a special morning we shared at this month's Heroes Breakfast.
There is something so meaningful about gathering around the table to honor the men and women who have served our country — sharing breakfast, conversation, stories, and the kind of camaraderie that makes these mornings so memorable.
Today, we had the privilege of recognizing First Lieutenant John Darryl DeGroot as our Veteran of the Month.
John served our country with pride during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 as a First Lieutenant with the Armed Forces Vietnam Network, using his gifts in radio and television broadcasting to uplift and encourage fellow troops “in country.”
For his service and dedication, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Beyond his military service, John’s life has been filled with adventure, music, friendship, and love for family.
It was truly an honor to celebrate him this morning and recognize the incredible life he has lived.
John, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the joy you continue to bring to those around you. We are proud to honor you.
And to all of the Veterans who joined us this morning — thank you!
It is our privilege to host these gatherings and celebrate the heroes in our community. ❤️🤍💙
