🌱 PLANTING SEEDS & GROWING FUTURES 🌱

At Village Kidz Learning Center, every lesson is another little seed being planted. Throughout September, we’ll be GROWING IN FRIENDSHIPS! 💙💛

Our students will focus on important social-emotional skills that help them build healthy friendships and become caring classmates:

🤝 Sharing with our friends
💬 Using kind words
💛 Helping one another
🌟 Encouraging our friends

Along the way, our Circle Pre-K curriculum will take us through our theme:

✨ I’m Me! I’m Special! ✨

🏡 Week of August 31: My Home & Family
💪 Week of September 8: My Amazing Body
👀 Week of September 14: My Five Senses
❤️ Week of September 21: My Important Feelings

As our children learn about their families, bodies, senses and emotions, they’ll also be learning something just as important: who they are, why they are special and how to care for the people growing alongside them. 🌱

Here’s to a September filled with learning, kindness, encouragement and new friendships!

💰 HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT TEXAS EDUCATION FREEDOM ACCOUNTS?
Texas' Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) give eligible families the opportunity to use state-provided education funds for approved educational expenses. Odyssey serves as the certified educational assistance organization helping administer the program. For the 2026–27 school year, approved private-school/pre-K participants may receive funding based on the program's eligibility and award rules. Families must meet the program's requirements, and funding is not automatic simply because a child attends an eligible provider.
👉 Already have an Odyssey/TEFA award?
Contact Village Kidz to discuss enrollment and the next steps for confirming your child's placement.

Have you ever noticed a child suddenly go from calm to overwhelmed with no obvious warning?

Sometimes the signs were there long before the meltdown, shutdown, or tears. The challenge is that the child didn’t notice them.

Interoception is often called our “hidden sense” because it helps us recognise what’s happening inside our bodies. It tells us when we’re hungry, thirsty, tired, uncomfortable, excited, worried, or beginning to feel overwhelmed. When interoception is difficult, children may miss these early body signals, making emotional regulation much harder.

Our new Bitesize Guide to Interoception explains:
✨ What interoception is
✨ Why it matters for emotional regulation
✨ Signs a child may be struggling with it
✨ Practical ways parents and educators can help build interoceptive awareness

Understanding the body is often the first step towards understanding feelings.
