Houston has more than 30 labyrinths and a vibrant labyrinth community, which sees the ancient tradition as a way to connect to themselves and to find answers.

We had a delightful and meaningful Discovering Wholeness Retreat focused on the Mother Archetype. We also got to see some great Texas Hill Country Wildlife. I’m already looking forward to returning to that community for the basics at our retreat at Mustang Island Jan 16-19.

Our retreats use teaching, group work, personal reflection, physical activity (yoga, hiking, kayaking), meditation, film analysis, and good food to create a safe container for participants to move toward a more meaningful and aware life.

Our April Retreat begins tomorrow! Exploring Archetypes; learning how our psyches work, and integrating ourselves with soma (body) through hiking, kayaking, and maybe some music.

In my first session of analysis with Dr. James Hollis, I brought a dream that included a staircase leading down to a dark door. I was afraid, in the dream, to go down there. Dr. Hollis said he would walk down there with me and be a guide to see what’s behind that door.

I’m no longer afraid to walk down there to discover what I might find. In addition to Dr. Hollis, I am grateful for these retreats, where I’ve found a community of people exploring what’s “down there,” or “in here.”

Camp Capers, in the hill country of Texas, on the banks of the Guadalupe River, will be an ideal location to continue this work. I look forward to seeing friends old and new, as we continue to Discover.
