We are deeply grateful to the Faires Family for their generous donation of a beautiful statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Queen of Angels School. This meaningful gift will serve as a lasting reminder of Mary’s love, faith, and devotion to God.

As a Catholic school, Mary holds a special place in our hearts and in our faith community. We know this beautiful statue will provide a special place for students, staff, families, and visitors to pause, reflect, and offer their prayers. May it inspire all who see it to follow Mary’s example of kindness, compassion, humility, and unwavering faith.

Queen of Angels School staff is busy behind the scenes preparing for the new school year! Our principal, Mrs. Kimball attended the Principal Kickstart meeting with the Seattle Archdiocese earlier this week and five staff members attended the INSPIRE conference!

INSPIRE is an annual, two-day leadership and innovation conference hosted by the Archdiocese of Seattle alongside partners like the Fulcrum Foundation. It is designed to bring together Catholic school educators, early learning teams, parish leaders, and youth ministry staff to strengthen their shared mission and drive community growth.

Staff & Faculty attended sessions on a variety of topics including: child brain development, brain/body connections, sensory strategies for young children, MAP rostering and data, navigating difficult conversations in the classroom, celebrating a diverse school community, relationship building, practical use of AI, reducing teacher burnout & strengthening student support, enrollment support, ECE best practices, etc.

They enjoyed their time together and are feeling *INSPIRED* to begin the new school year!

Queen of Angels School is proud to celebrate our very own Mrs. Haley Djenaba, who has been named a recipient of the 2026 Fulcrum Foundation St. John Baptist de La Salle Educator Excellence Award!

Mrs. Djenaba is a proud Queen of Angels alumna whose heart for Catholic education has come full circle. For the past 20 years, she has faithfully served students and families in Catholic schools, bringing joy, compassion, and excellence to every classroom she leads.

As one of our beloved preschool teachers, Haley creates a nurturing environment where our youngest learners grow in faith, curiosity, confidence, and kindness. She is also a respected teacher leader and mentor, generously sharing her wisdom and encouraging fellow educators as they continue to grow in their vocation.

Her unwavering commitment to Catholic education and her love for every child make her a shining example of what it means to teach with both excellence and heart.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Haley Djenaba on this well-deserved honor. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the Queen of Angels family and couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this remarkable achievement.

We received so much love and support from our community for our Centennial Reunion Weekend! We promise to share some of the pictures from that wonderful weekend when things calm down a bit.

We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to Bada Bloom for this gorgeous flower arrangement that helped us celebrate! We were able to use it at our reunion dinner, family picnic, and finally to honor Mary, our namesake.

We want YOU to join us to walk in the 4th of July Parade!

The Fourth of July Parade is coming up this Saturday in Downtown Port Angeles!

We would love for you to join us in walking to celebrate 100 years of Catholic Education on the Olympic Peninsula! We have 3 cars that plan to join us and several people ready to walk, but we'd love even more of you to join us!

Current students should plan to wear their uniform. Alumni and friends of the school should plan to wear Q of A gear if possible!

We will meet at the school from 2:00-4:00 TODAY (Wednesday, July 1) to make signs that say "Cheers to 100 Years!" that we can carry in the parade! We have markers and poster board but if you have anything you'd like to add to your poster, please bring it along!

As we celebrate 100 years of Queen of Angels School, there are so many people whose dedication has made this historic weekend possible—but today, we want to recognize three women whose generosity of spirit, countless hours of service, and unwavering love for our school have been truly extraordinary.

A special thank you to Haley, whose leadership and tireless commitment over the past several weeks helped bring our Centennial vision to life. From planning to problem-solving, from the smallest details to the biggest moments, Haley poured her heart into making this celebration one our community will never forget.

To Amanda, thank you for your endless energy, creativity, and willingness to jump in wherever needed. Your countless volunteer hours, joyful spirit, and dedication behind the scenes have made an immeasurable difference in preparing for this very special weekend.

And to Tamie, our incredible Development Director, thank you for your leadership, fundraising expertise, and the passion you bring to Queen of Angels every single day. Your vision, generosity of time, and steadfast commitment to strengthening our school community have helped make this Centennial celebration—and so many other school initiatives—a tremendous success.

The work that happens behind the scenes is often unseen, but it is never unnoticed. Thank you for giving so generously of your time, your talents, and your hearts.
