Allegedly, when I was two years old I told my mother that I wanted to play the violin. However, my formal musical journey officially began in the private piano studio setting when I was five years old. After proving to my parents that I was capable of being a dedicated young musician for a few years, I was enrolled in private violin lessons at the age of eight years old.
I haven't stopped since. I had the honor of working with a lot of wonderful teachers growing up, which ultimately led me to decide (as a third grade student), that when I grew up I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to have a positive influence on others and give back to the world in a way that would leave a positive and long-lasting legacy. I spent my childhood giving solo piano and violin recitals, attending music camps and youth orchestra rehearsals, participating in solo and ensemble festival, improvising in praise bands, playing in string quartets and other chamber ensembles, writing and recording original music, participating in (and winning) battle of the bands in my freshman year, performing Beethoven's 9th at the age of seventeen on the stage of the Sydney Opera House...and generally expanding my skill set as an instrumental and vocal musician. Approaching high school graduation, I realized that my investment in music was too great to discontinue - so I decided to merge two dreams into one and pursued a college education in music and teaching. In 2010, I began my career as a professional music educator and I haven’t once looked back. Sharing a love of music with others is one of the most rewarding and magical things in the whole world. I have a positive and enthusiastic, yet rigorous approach that brings great results and believe that learning should be fun and appropriately challenging.
