We are thrilled to celebrate Misleydis Almeida from Brusly Middle School for being named a 2027 Louisiana Teacher of the Year Semifinalist.

Meet Misleydis Almeida de la Cruz, a 2027 Louisiana Teacher of the Year semifinalist from Brusly Middle in WBRSchools.

Almeida teaches seventh-grade science through hands-on, inquiry-based learning that helps students think critically and connect science to the world around them.

In her classroom, students ask questions, gather evidence, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning.
