📚✨ Give Your Child the Gift of Reading—For FREE! ✨📚
Louisiana parents, did you know your child can receive a brand-new, high-quality book every single month at no cost to you? Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children from birth until their 5th birthday are eligible to have age-appropriate books mailed directly to their home.
Research shows that reading to your child for just 15 minutes a day can have a life-changing impact:
🧠 Boosts Brain Power: Hearing stories builds vocabulary and strengthens the neural pathways used for learning.
❤️ Strengthens Bonds: Snuggling up with a book creates a safe, loving space and builds a lifelong emotional connection between you and your child.
🏫 Sets Them Up for Success: Children who are read to regularly start school with a "head start" in literacy and language skills, regardless of family income.
🌟 Sparks Imagination: Books open doors to new worlds, helping children "Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More."

Mrs. Dawn and Mrs. Wright’s class took learning to the floor during their Amazing Critters unit! 🐜🐍🕷️
Students used their imaginations (and lots of energy!) as they pretended to be crawling critters, slithering like snakes, creeping like spiders, and inching along like worms.
Gross motor development in early childhood is essential because movements like crawling, balancing, and coordinating large muscles help strengthen the brain-body connection, improve focus, and lay the foundation for skills like writing, sitting upright, and participating in classroom learning.

Springtime smiles were everywhere at Port Allen Elementary School as our little learners celebrated with a special visit from the Easter Bunny and an exciting egg hunt! 🐰🌸🥚
Laughter, bright colors, and joyful moments filled the air as students enjoyed the fun, the sunshine, and time together celebrating the season.
Wishing all of our Early Childhood families a very Happy Easter filled with love, laughter, and sweet memories!
