Our 3-year-olds had a wonderful time reading Aunt Jessie’s Hats! To bring the story to life, we hosted our very own "Aunt Jessie’s Hats" collection right here in the classroom.

From bucket hats and caps to fancy brimmed hats, our little learners loved trying on different styles, sharing their favorites, and stepping directly into the pages of the book! 📚✨

Hip, Hip, Hooray! We’re learning letter sounds in PreK today! 🎉

There’s something so special about watching little learners realize letters have sounds, and those sounds come together to make WORDS!

Today, Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Dempsey’s PreK class at Port Allen Elementary put their learning into action by creating a video to help teach others their letter sounds! We know that young children learn best when their minds AND bodies are engaged! Every letter sound we remember is one more building block on our journey toward becoming confident readers. Watch out, kindergarten… these future readers are on their way!
