Some homes become more than a stop on the schedule. 🐝

I've had the privilege of caring for this home for about two years, and today was a beautiful reset for some pretty special longtime clients.

But this visit was extra exciting because there's something NEW happening over here! 🥰

The girls went back to school, I had a day out of the field, and I thought I'd play around with a few website ideas...

I used to say YES to work like this.

I was struggling for leads, needed the money, and when a last-minute job came through, I took it.

And I stayed BUSY. 🐝

But busy wasn't the same as building a business.

And before somebody says, "But it's $300!"

Yes. $300 for THREE separate units.

Three 1b/1b units. Your supplies. Your equipment. Your transportation. Your insurance. Your taxes. Your labor. Your body. Your risk.

And for me, Williamsburg is roughly 45-60 minutes each way, depending on traffic and the exact location. That's potentially close to 2 hours of my day spent driving before we even talk about cleaning three units.

Now run those numbers again.

And the offer says "potential recurring client."

Recurring at $100 per unit isn't suddenly better. It means you've potentially locked yourself into repeating an unsustainable rate.

When you're scared about where the next client is coming from, any number can feel a whole lot better than zero. I'm not judging anyone for taking it. I've been there.

But don't build your business there.

Use the season you're in, learn from it, and keep moving toward your own clients, your own pricing, your own standards, and your own reputation.

Because eventually, I had to STOP chasing somebody else's work and start building my own.

Busy kept me working.
Ownership gave me something to build. 🐝👑

And remember: $300 in revenue is not $300 in profit.

Run the numbers before you say yes.

A little note for the web, SEO, and "conversion" people who keep auditing my website 😂

My booking process is intentional.

Not every service has the same booking requirements. Not every location has the same travel considerations. An online request does not guarantee availability, final pricing, or service approval because I actually review the home, scope, location, and client needs before accepting a job.

That's not a broken booking funnel.

That's protection. For me AND the client.

My website isn't designed to get every person who lands on it to book as quickly as possible. It's designed to educate people about how I work, set expectations, and help the RIGHT clients make an informed decision.

And here's the part that makes me laugh...

How are some of y'all professionally auditing my website and getting confused by the process, while potential clients who actually READ it are submitting inquiries saying, "I know I'll probably need a larger initial cleaning before monthly maintenance." 😂

They got it.

The website did its job.

I intentionally built friction into parts of my process. I don't want every lead. I want informed leads who understand what they're requesting before I ever step into their home.

Call it a conversion gap if you want.

I call it a filter. 🐝
