Did you ever plant a seed, not thinking it might grow into a mighty tree? No? Well I did, so to speak. I planted a youtube channel just so the actors could see their acting. Not for the public. Just so the actor's could see what they had done after the editing was completed. We were under a grant from the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation to place DVD's of psycho social issue films we were producing. So no YouTube channel was officially built...at least not for the grant. So we planted our YouTube channel, forgot to water it, didn't feed it. When I came back later, to my surprise our little channel had grown to about 16,000 viewers and about 50 subscription. WOW! Did I learn my lesson? Nope, but it has not affected the channel. Now we have almost 50,000 views and 139 subscribers. Our number one watched video, Joey's Bad Day, was the very first film we shot for the Healthy People Now! team. check it out at:

Meet the instructor:

Ronn Hague has been teaching students the technical side of film production for more than 14 years, but his career began almost 50 years ago when he became the co-producer of a daily television program in Houston, Texas that was shipped out for weekly play to 10 major US markets including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more. He began working with film more than 20 years ago with the production of an award-winning documentary followed by more than 60 short narrative fiction films, television shows and other productions, Hague is also involved in other on and off campus projects.

Hague is the founding director of the PRCC Museum. Begun more than 20 years ago, the museum is a repository of more than 5,000 objects ranging from a 18 foot hand hewn peroque to uniforms, jackets, and other interesting college memorabilia. Hague recently was recipient of an award from the Mississippi Historical Society for his museum work.

Off campus, Hague is the author of 5 published books, composer and arranger of more than 100 musical compositions (film scores and others), screenwriter, editor, and director. Hague is also an acting talent manager and owner of Aleph Tav Talent Management, Aleph Tav Publishing, and I See That Film Productions.
Hague has won numerous awards for film, television, graphic design, and web design. He's a member of the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Hall of Fame, and an American Association of State and Local History Certificate of Merit recipient, and Hague is also the winner of numerous creative writing and newspaper awards.

The Film and Video Technology program at PRCC is offering a new learning experience called Accelerated Pathway Credential. This 15 credit hour program is positioned as an introductory course for individuals interested in working in film or video. The class consists of 5 classes, These classes include Introduction to Entertainment Media, Camera and Lighting I, Grip and Electrical, Production Skills, and Editing I. Intro to Entertainment Media introduces you to the film and television set, a brief history of media, set etiquitte, set safety, set nomenclature, reading a script, and more. The Grip and Electrical introduces you to the G and E departments which includes lighting and flagging a set, rigging lights, and more. Camera and Lighting covers setting up and working with a digital film camera, framing and focusing lighting the set, types of light, light color, and more. Production skills introduces the student to the world of the Production Assistant, teaching the different types of PAs,working on set, set paperwork, using the walkie talkie on set, and more. Editing teaches the fundamentals of working with non-linear editors, introduction the student to Premiere Pro. The student will also participate in student and class films (a minimum of 3 short films, depending on Pandemic restrictions) Most all of our recent films are listed on the International Movie Database (IMDb.com). Part of this program also has the student become a member of the State Film Office's crew listing, so that your information is available to Unit Production Managers and First Assistant Directors, statewide. This program is part of the overall Film and Video Technology which now offers 4 educational Pathways, including this pathway, the career certificate (30 credit hours), the technical certificate (45 credit hours) and the Associates in Applied Science Degree (60 credit hours). The Pearl River Community College Film and Video Technology is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS COC). The Accelerated Pathway Credential is only offered during the Fall Semester. Class times are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and from 8:30 a.m until 10:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Well another year is in the books. In spite of covid 19, we survived. We held our ISFX in the fall this year, showing the last year-and-a-half a films. We shot for films,Zamzummin, Jessica's FGS, The Switch, and Goblin! We also sent students as interns and PAs on other Productions. We will be graduating some of our sophomores oh, and some of them will be sticking around you pick up some classes they missed. One of the things the PRCC Film and Video Technology program does is make films. We've been doing it since 2008 We shoot student films PRCC projects, concerts, and other films, as well as films for the PRCC's Healthy People Now! Healthy People Now! makes psycho social films for upper elementary through high school. Here's a film we dug out of the vault... This one wwas shot in 2011. It stars Rob Lewis and Sydnee Durham. Rob starred in two more films after this one. The Hole features Rob with The Stranger Things bully (season one) Peyton Wich (more about that later) For now, enjoy Money Problems.
