Hello Butler County 4-H members and families,

You're invited to Butler County's 4-H banquet!

Please join us for a hot meal and a great time recognizing our 4-H members and families. All of the hard work and dedication by our 4-H'ers will not go unnoticed! We appreciate all of the time our members, families and volunteers have poured into our 4-H program within the past year. We hope to see you there!

Please bring only *immediate* family to this banquet. We request everyone to bring a dessert to share, if you are able.

Let's start off our new 4-H fiscal year right! We look forward to another amazing 4-H year!

ASL Beginner's Session's start THIS WEEK! A reminder to those who have signed up for this month's sessions, our classes are every Wednesday from the 7th to the 21st. Located at the Poplar Bluff Library! Snacks will be provided! I can't wait to see you there!

Come learn the basics of American Sign Language in this fun, hands-on 3 session course! Youth ages 5-18 will learn everyday signs, simple phrases, fingerspelling, and ways to communicate using ASL. No previous experience needed--just bring your curiosity and be ready to learn something new!

• A NEW 4-H YEAR IS HERE! • 🍀

Today marks the beginning of a brand-new 4-H year, and we are so excited to welcome back our returning members and volunteers — and welcome new families to the Butler County 4-H family!

🌟 4-HOnline is officially OPEN for the new year!

Registration is now available for both 4-H members and adult volunteers. If you’re already involved in 4-H, don’t forget to log in and complete your enrollment for the new year. If you’re new to 4-H, this is a great time to get started!

How to sign up:

1. Visit 4HOnline and create or access your family account.
2. Select Butler County 4-H and complete the enrollment process.
3. Youth members can choose their projects and clubs during enrollment.
4. Adult volunteers can complete their volunteer enrollment to get involved and make a difference in the lives of local youth!

Whether your child is interested in animals, agriculture, cooking, arts and crafts, STEM, shooting sports, leadership, community service, or something completely new, there is a place for them in 4-H!

We’re looking forward to another year of learning, leadership, friendships, and hands-on experiences here in Butler County. 💚

|| Butler County 4-H is looking for YOU! ||

Our 4-H program is growing, and we want to continue offering opportunities for the children and families in our community—but we need more volunteers to make it happen.

You don’t have to be a 4-H expert. You don’t have to have a background in agriculture. And you don’t have to know everything about working with kids. If you have a skill, hobby, passion, or simply a desire to make a difference in the lives of local youth, there is a place for you in 4-H!

We are looking for volunteers who may be interested in:

• Leading or helping lead a new 4-H club
• Starting a special-interest club based on a hobby or skill you enjoy
• Helping with 4-H events and activities
• Sharing your knowledge or career with local youth
• Assisting with workshops and educational programs
• Helping behind the scenes with planning and organization
• Serving as an occasional volunteer when your schedule allows

From arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, animals, science, outdoor activities, photography, sewing, STEM, sign language, and sports to countless other interests—the possibilities are endless.

Our recent programs, including educational activities and our American Sign Language for Beginners course, are examples of the kinds of opportunities we want to continue bringing to children in Butler County. But we need a community of volunteers to help us keep creating them.

One volunteer can make a difference. A few volunteers can build a club. A community of volunteers can build a thriving 4-H program.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish there were more opportunities like this for kids in our community,” this is your opportunity to help make that happen.

Thank you so much for the amazing interest in our American Sign Language for Beginners class! We are excited to announce that the class is officially AT CAPACITY! 🎉

We’ve had several families reach out with interest, so if you weren’t able to get a spot this time, please keep an eye out for future ASL opportunities through Butler County 4-H. We’ll take your feedback into consideration when planning future sessions, including days and times that may work better for school-aged kids and families.

We can’t wait to get started and learn some ASL together!
