Wow, what can I say. On sat Believe and I went and did our first 25mile endurance ride together.

Friday we arrived at the race, got vetted in (all As for bebe!) And finished up last minute things for the race. We camped with the horses in a corral with us in a tent next to them and then got ready at 5am for a ride leave time of 7am. Ashley Cheng got Mo ready and our wonderful friends and support system that is the We Believe Family, helped get us out the start gate!

During the race we had a nice ground covering trot and beautiful controled canters. We averaged about 8.5mph.

The terrain was moderate, some long stretches in the sun around feilds that were mostly flat and great to let the horses open up a bit! Both mares did excellent! The park was gorgeous and the race was the best marked one I've ever seen. Wow. Didn't make any bad turns or get turned around.

Vet hold went very well. Bebe pulsed down fast to 54 and trotted out beautifully. She ate, drank and rested while my amazing husband and best friend got me some food and water as well. Steve Collier and Monica Przyleki mounted up on Maverick and Bonita. They were doing the second loop as their intro ride. We left right behind the first two horses all together for our second loop. We got about 3-4 miles in doing a very good pace when we decided to spit off on our own and let Monica and steve pace our other horses a bit slower since they were new to endurance. Me and Ashley pushed forward at a ground covering pace while steve and monica worked with their horses comfortable pace.

It was much hotter on the second loop. As a black horse Bebe can struggle a bit. The last two miles I noticed she was slowing down so I told ashley to go ahead with morning. I thought bebe would give me a really hard time seeing her herd mate trot away but she kept her cool and only whinnied a few times for her. She listened to my cues and didnt fight me which was nice. I was very proud of her. We came in a few minutes behind ashley. Started sloshing down bebe and getting water into her. When I thought she might be ok to go pulse we were over but she was still a bit to high.

I was a little flustered as I no longer had the amazing help of Steve and Monica to crew, but the amazing community that is the endurance community saw me trying to juggle everything and came to our aid. We had people coming over with colder buckets of water (mine were a bit warm from the sun as the shade went away) and gave me an extra hand. I was moved to tears by how kind everyone was. With their help I was able to get bebe down to 60 pretty quickly! Ashley also helped by keeping morning close by and taking her time with vetting to ensure bebe didnt get stressed. That was so greatly appreciated that she helped while also ensuring her and mo were good.

Bebes final vetting was good! Not as good as hold, she had one neg quadrant on her gut sounds, a B in hydration, and a B on impulsive but honestly some of that may have been because I was in muscle failure and struggling to run with her lol! We got 4th place and I about cried when I heard that! She didnt loose any boots, stayed sound, was well behaved and gave me her all so it was a win regardless if we got first, last, or anything between.

I cannot say thank you enough to the incredible people at Horseshoe Bend Boogie Endurance Ride . Wow they made us feel so welcomed, helped immensely, and were kind and patient as I figured things out :)

We went home with a gift card to distance depot and some goodies and all happy healthy horses! What an incredible weekend this has been. Now im nursing an extremely sore body (I need to condition myself way more before the next race), some minor wounds and rubs (my stirrup cover slipped down and the buckles cut my legs on both sides) I also had a mishap with my water vest and have a bad burn on my back. My amazing husband is helping care for the horses and dogs to let me rest. So proud of monica and steve, and of course bonita and Maverick for completing their intro ride!

Thank you ashley for being patient kind and the best support rider out there! My student has become a teacher! Ridiculously talented and blows me away with her commitment and determination! Congrats on your 3rd place and I know yall will be killing it in the 50s soon!

💜 A New Chapter Begins... 💜

Sometimes growth means taking a leap of faith.
In the last month, we've packed up an entire barn, moved to a beautiful new property, and poured our hearts into creating the next chapter of We Believe Stables. While the journey hasn't always been easy, every challenge has reminded us why we started this dream in the first place.

Today, we're so excited to share a little glimpse of what's ahead...

✨ A refreshed look with our new logo. ✨ A beautiful new home in Gaithersburg, Maryland. ✨ Expanded boarding, lessons, training, trail riding, and endurance programs. ✨ New opportunities, new memories, and so much more to come.

Our mission hasn't changed.
To provide a place where horses thrive, riders grow in confidence, and everyone feels like family.
This is more than a new location or a new logo. It's the beginning of something we've dreamed about for a long time.

To everyone who has supported us, believed in us, trusted us with your horses, or cheered us on from the sidelines...

We had some really bad storms come through yesterday with horrific thunder and wind. The horses were a bit freaked out. We made the decision to keep them in their very large feild so they could move as needed and also to avoid a tree branch landing on the barn and possibly hurting them. In order to help them be more at ease Steve and I went to go be with them in the feild during the storm. As soon as we got in there they settled. They even made a circle around Steve at one point almost like they were protecting him ❣️Here are a few clips at the end when I could use my phone without it being soaked from rain.

I asked chatgpt to roast Endurance Riders and this is what it said. 🤣

"Endurance riders are absolutely unhinged in the most impressive way possible.
These people will wake up at 3:30 AM voluntarily, feed a horse 14 different supplements, wrap legs with the precision of a NASCAR pit crew, and then say: “Just doing a fun little 50 today.”
A FUN LITTLE 50. That’s an interstate commute.That’s not a ride, that’s a land migration.
And somehow the horses are always thriving while the riders look one mild inconvenience away from becoming one with the dirt.

Tiny little Arabian mare out there glowing, ears up, thriving— while the rider dismounts sounding like a smoker climbing Everest: “Can someone hold my horse while I remember my own name?”

Endurance riders don’t pack saddle bags—they prepare for societal collapse. Need a hoof pick? Sure. Vet wrap? Obviously. Extra reins? Yup. Electrolytes? Horse and human versions. A full rainstorm survival kit? Naturally. A granola bar from the Obama administration? Also yes.

And the amount of science involved is insane. They’ll casually say: “Well his recovery was a little slow after the second hold so I adjusted his electrolyte ratio and changed pacing strategy for the final loop.”
Girl this started as trail riding.

Also nobody—and I mean nobody—believes in their horse harder than endurance riders believe in Arabians. That horse could:
spook at a butterfly
scream at a plastic bag
teleport sideways over literally nothing
survive on oxygen and emotional instability
…and the rider will still say: “She’d carry me through the apocalypse.”

Then there’s the conditioning rides. “We just did an easy slow ride today.” You check Strava and these lunatics casually covered 23 miles over mountains in 97-degree weather.

And the camping setups at rides? Someone always has:
a living quarters trailer nicer than a suburban home
14 supplements
6 hay nets
3 coolers
portable corrals
battery fans
and a horse wearing more wearable technology than a Tour de France cyclist.
Meanwhile the rider is surviving on gas station coffee and beef jerky.

And after riding for 8–12 straight hours through mud, rocks, creeks, heat, and emotional suffering, they cross the finish line absolutely filthy and immediately start discussing… another ride.
“Oh she looked so good today, I think we’re ready for the 75.”
Meanwhile the rest of us are sore after just carrying the water buckets. "

We Believe Stables is pleased to offer a select number of lesson openings within our program. In addition to private instruction, we are now introducing semi-private lessons for riders who enjoy a shared, yet personalized experience.

We proudly welcome riders of all experience levels, with each program thoughtfully tailored to the individual.

At We Believe Stables, we are intentionally a small, family-style barn. This allows us to provide a more refined, personal approach—where each rider is supported at their own pace in a calm, encouraging environment. Our priority is creating a space where learning feels elevated, enjoyable, and free from pressure.
