At The Kangaroo’s Pouch, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are playing, exploring, creating, and simply being children. 🌿☀️

Our preschoolers spend their days asking questions, solving problems, using their imaginations, building friendships, and becoming more confident and independent. Whether they’re exploring outdoors, creating a masterpiece, enjoying a favorite book, practicing early literacy and math skills, or learning through hands-on play, there is purpose in what we do each day. ✏️📚🎨🧩

For more than 37 years, The Kangaroo’s Pouch has been a place where children are given the time, space, encouragement, and love they need to learn, play, explore, and grow. 🦘💛

🌿💛 Happy National Relaxation Day from The Kangaroo’s Pouch! 💛🌿

Today, August 15, is National Relaxation Day, and relaxation isn’t just for grown-ups—our little ones need time to slow down, recharge, and simply be kids, too! ☀️

Childhood can be wonderfully busy with learning, playing, exploring, and growing. Quiet moments help children reset their bodies and minds and give them a chance to enjoy the simple things around them.

Here are a few child-friendly ways to celebrate National Relaxation Day:

🫧 Blow bubbles and watch them float away
📚 Cuddle up with a favorite book
🌳 Lie under a tree and watch the clouds
🎨 Color, draw, or paint just for fun
🎶 Listen to soft music and have a little quiet time
🧸 Snuggle with a favorite stuffed animal or blanket
🌿 Take a slow nature walk and notice the sounds, sights, and smells around you
💨 Practice “smell the flower, blow out the candle” breathing
💦 Enjoy some calming water play
🤗 And, of course, slow down for a few extra hugs and cuddles!

At The Kangaroo’s Pouch, we know that growing children need active play, exciting adventures, AND peaceful moments. Sometimes the very best thing we can give a child is the freedom to slow down, use their imagination, enjoy the outdoors, and soak up the wonder of childhood. 💛

So today, find a shady spot, grab a good book, take a deep breath, and enjoy a little downtime together.

🐂🌾 A Visit to the Farm! 🌾🐂
Mr. Jim and Mrs. Christi made a special trip to the farm this afternoon to check on our good boy, Champ the Bull! ❤️ He’s looking great and was happy to have some visitors from his Kangaroo’s Pouch family!

We sure do love our Champ! Check out the last picture to see how much he has grown since he was on our KP farm! 🥰 🐂

🍃🦁 Our Wild Adventure Has Officially Begun! 🦒🌿

What an AMAZING first day of our new school year at The Kangaroo’s Pouch Children’s Center! 💚

Yesterday and today, our little explorers arrived with bright smiles, eager hearts, and a spirit of adventure as we kicked off our “Growing Up Wild” year! From new friendships and exciting classroom discoveries to laughter, learning, and lots of love, our school is already buzzing with joy.

We are so grateful to our incredible teachers and staff who worked tirelessly to create a warm, welcoming environment where every child can grow, explore, and thrive. Thank you to our wonderful families for trusting us with your greatest treasures. It is truly an honor to partner with you this school year.

Here’s to a year filled with curiosity, confidence, kindness, and unforgettable memories as we grow in wisdom, faith, and wonder—one wild adventure at a time!

🍎❤️🍕Our team has worked SO hard getting ready for our first day! We wanted dinner and dishes to be on us tonight. Thanks to all who helped, we were able to treat them so no one had to go home and make dinner! They were so appreciative! We have the BEST team! 🍎❤️🍕

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! We are SO excited to start our "new school year" tomorrow morning! I know many of the children have been here for a while, but some are brand new to the preschool experience. And even for those of us who have been here, the "first" day with new classes, new friends and new teachers can be a bit overwhelming for some children (and honestly for some adults too)! We made a video to try and help ease everyone's mind about a brand new start! We encourage you to use this video as a bedtime story for the entire family to watch together. I don't get to spend nearly as much time with the children as I would like, but I want them to recognize my face and my voice and know that I am always here for them! And so is Harley:) We look forward to an amazing year and can't wait to see how all our kiddos grow and learn! For those of you who are just joining, a BIG WELCOME to the KPCC family!!! Get a good night's sleep and I'll see you all bright and early tomorrow morning! You will want to allow a few extra minutes at drop off for the photo opps and to walk your child to their classroom IF you wish! If you do choose to come in, please use the yellow lane for parking and reserve the white for only drive through drop off. --❤️Mrs. Christi
