Thursday, our fourth graders welcomed a special guest from our County Office, Mrs. Jessica Cox, our District Lead ELA Teacher!

Mrs. Cox taught an engaging, hands-on lesson on inferencing, helping students use text clues and their background knowledge to make meaningful inferences. Our students were up, moving, thinking, and learning, and they absolutely loved it!

We are so thankful for educators like Mrs. Cox who share their expertise and help our students and teachers grow.

Friday kicked off our first Character Breakfast of the year! Each homeroom selected one student to be recognized for demonstrating the character trait of Empathy, an important part of our Capturing Kids’ Hearts program.

We are so proud of these students for showing kindness, understanding, and compassion toward others.

A special thank-you to our guest speaker, Assistant Superintendent Jimmy Flake, for helping make this morning so special. We also appreciate all of the parents and family members who were able to attend and support our students.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year of growing strong character and Capturing Kids’ Hearts at South Pontotoc Elementary!

Our fifth graders were showing their school spirit yesterday and getting ready to cheer on our Cougars at the jamboree! They were full of Cougar pride and ready to support our team!
