For many many years, our students have learned about Venerable Fulton Sheen. A bishop in the Peoria diocese possibly becoming a Saint - Wow!! He would be the very first from our diocese and only the 12th ever American.

Students have heard his stories, watched his tv program and even visited the Sheen Museum (highly recommend!). Our teachers were fortunate to visit St. Mary’s in El Paso earlier this school year to celebrate Mass. St. Mary’s is the home parish and baptismal location for Archbishop Sheen.

At 10am today, we are proud to call him Blessed Fulton Sheen as he will be one final step closer to Sainthood.

As Pope Leo said, “may the example and intercession of this holy bishop, known for his evangelizing work through the media, inspire many others likewise to find new ways of spreading the Gospel message with joyful enthusiasm.”

Our Reading buddies took a walking field trip to the Duck Park to do the story in the park together. They read “School’s First Day of School” on a beautiful morning! The story retells the first day of school from the perspective of the school building.

Grandparents: Our Roots of Faith 🌳

We started our day together with Mass, and wow - what a joy it was to see a packed house! Our K–5 students had a special song prepared for their grandparents after Mass, and those sweet smiles of pride as they made their way back to their grandparents were absolutely heartwarming. 🥰

We continued the morning with breakfast, games and fellowship. Time together that we simply don’t get to have nearly enough.

Thank you to all of our Grands for joining us and being such an important part of our Saints’ lives. We are so grateful for you!

Our 3rd graders are learning about the different types of communities and the role we play within them. Each group were asked to create their own community and include features such as landforms, bodies of water and community buildings. They also got to decide if it was a rural or urban community.

We think they did great!!

It’s a big day at the ballfields tomorrow!

⚾️ 10am: 8th grade Night for boys baseball (A/B games) against Epiphany @ Trost Field
🥎 10am: Regional Championship girls softball game against St. Michael @ RecPlex
⚾️ 1pm: Make-up boys baseball game against Woodland @ Trost

Boys are 8-1 on the season and begin Regionals next Thursday!
Girls are 17-1 and hoping for that bid to Sectionals!
