Happy Birthday Fr. Colin, SM!

Today (August 7th) the Marists worldwide celebrate the birth of their founder Fr. Jean-Claude Colin.

Born at the close of the 18th century (1790) in revolution-torn France, Jean-Claude was convinced that the Blessed Virgin wanted a group of men and women to do her work in the world at a time of turmoil and challenge. With this inspiration he forged the way for a new family of consecrated religious and laity in the Church - the Marist family.

Under his leadership, as founder and father, Marist missionaries would proclaim Christ's message in Mary's gentle spirit 'on whatever distant shore' to which they were sent.

Fr. Jean-Claude Colin .... Pray for Us!

Notre Dame Prep once again welcomed high school coaches from across Southeast Michigan today as the MHSAA's Coaches Advancement Program (CAP) returned to campus for a full day of professional development in the school's library.

The training featured both CAP Level 1 and CAP Level 3 courses, providing new and veteran coaches with continuing education through one of the nation's most respected high school coaching development programs. CAP coursework is required for many newly hired varsity coaches in Michigan and is designed to strengthen leadership, sportsmanship and educational athletics.

Leading today's sessions was NDP Associate Athletic Director Aaron Crouse, who has served as an MHSAA CAP instructor for years. His continued role as a presenter — and Notre Dame Prep's longstanding tradition of hosting these sessions — reflects the confidence the MHSAA places in both Aaron's expertise and the school's commitment to educational excellence on and off the playing field.

GRANDPARENTS DAY 2026: Some of life's greatest lessons come from grandparents and the special people who cheer us on every step of the way.

On Friday, Sept. 18, we look forward to welcoming the grandparents and special persons of our Notre Dame Prep lower school students for a morning of faith, fellowship and celebration. Together, we'll share Mass, enjoy a brunch, take professional photos and create memories that our students will cherish for years to come.

The love, encouragement and wisdom of grandparents help shape who our children become, and we're honored to celebrate that lasting influence as part of our Notre Dame Prep family.

We hope you'll join us for this special tradition. Learn more and register today at ndprep.org/grandparents2026.

IMAGINE A RETREAT where four days have the power to shape a lifetime. At Notre Dame Prep, Kairos is far more than time away from campus — it's an opportunity for students to step away from the distractions of daily life, deepen their relationship with God, build authentic friendships and discover more fully who they are called to become.

Offered as an optional four-day experience for juniors and seniors, Kairos invites students to reflect on their faith, family, friendships and purpose through prayer, meaningful conversations and peer-led ministry. With phones set aside and schedules paused, students experience what the Greek word "Kairos" means: "God's time." Many alumni describe it as the defining experience of their high school years, one that continues to influence their faith, leadership and lives long after graduation.

As part of Notre Dame Prep's Catholic and Marist mission, Kairos reflects the school's commitment to forming Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars — helping students encounter God in community while preparing them to lead lives of faith, compassion and service.

To learn more about Notre Dame Prep and its Marist mission, call 248-373-1061, email [email protected], or go to ndprep.org/admissions/admissions-inquiry to connect online with our admissions team.

In the meantime, more about NDP's Kairos program, including alumni recollections, is available at ndprep.org/kairos-four-days-that-change-a-lifetime.
