"My name is Tyler, and my wife is Jessica. I’m 35 years old and my wife is 29. We have 4 children ranging from ages 1-7. I have been in recovery for 5 years now, and my wife never abused substances, however she was homeless which brought her to GCH. Me and my wife have both been here for 5 years.

Before Grace Centers of Hope, I had completely pushed my family away, the only support system I ever had. My drug use had gotten to the point where everyone was just done. Before GCH, my wife Jessica was homeless. She had lost her support system because she was putting her toxic relationship with her kid’s biological father before her own happiness.

The word family changed for both of us after GCH in a huge way. The word family means what it’s supposed to mean now, now that I’m clean. As opposed to during my addiction, where I always put myself first. OUR family now knows nothing but love, nothing of the past.

Being at Grace Centers of Hope strengthened my family because it allowed me to become the person that I’m supposed to be. At the end of the day I’m still a depraved sinner, but now I know that me and my family are saved by the blood of Christ!

My favorite things about having a family now, is because I never thought I would have one. I’m a proud father of 4, a proud husband, and reconnecting with the family I thought I had lost has been amazing.

If we could give some advice to another family suffering through addiction, is that it is POSSIBLE! Also, before I got sober I was an Atheist… but I now see with God, all is possible. If someone that had no faith in God whatsoever and refused to believe in his existence, only thought about himself and only continued to dig himself into deeper holes can be saved by the grace of god and get sober, then anybody can!

Even though we have been at GCH for 4 years, this year we have ALOT to be thankful for. We both have our licenses. We both have vehicles, we have a daycare, we have a community that’s very supportive, and we just moved into a much bigger house! Each of our children have their own room. It’s more space for our family and, we’re just happy to be TOGETHER!"
