Let’s practice saying “It’s for comfort” confidently, proudly and seriously.
When our baby nurses to feel safe, relaxed and connected instead of for hunger.
When we lie down with our babies until they fall asleep.
When our baby is more comfortable in our arms or our lap than not.
Often we say “It’s JUST for comfort” but we need to drop the just. I hear it all the time and I’ve said it myself.
We have got to stop demoting comfort! We have to start using language to elevate comfort so everyone knows it’s importance.
Comfort and nurture for a baby is everything!!!
Safe, warm relationships are everything!
Responsiveness is everything!
Comfort builds fundamental brain structures that baby will use every single moment of their whole life.
Let’s nurture and comfort with pride and confidence. It’s a hard job that takes skill and we should be so proud of ourselves 💜💕🧠💕💜

IT'S HERE! My Supported Newborn Sleep course is now available for purchase!
After teaching in-person classes and webinars for over a year, I decided to compile alllll of the content I wished I could cover in a one-hour class (but could never fit in!) into a self-paced, multi-module online course.
I had so much fun making this course and I cannot WAIT to get it into the hands of families.
What does this course cover?
🌻What to expect as a parent of a newborn (with sleep and in general!)
🌻Common challenges faced by new parents
🌻How feeding & sleep are connected
🌻What sleep "stuff" do you actually need?
🌻Normal newborn behavior
🌻How to read sleep cues & settle a fussy baby
🌻Safe sleep options (including a whole module on safe bedsharing!)
🌻How to build your postpartum village
plus a whole lot more!
Course format:
🪻8 modules, each with recorded video content & supplemental resources
🪻self-paced, mobile-friendly
🪻6 handouts for print/download to pop on the fridge
🪻Vetted provider list for 1-1 support
🪻Includes access to FB support group
I'm offering the course at an initial launch price of $99, which includes lifetime access and any bonus modules that get added later on!

Super excited to debut this new offering in collaboration with Ypsi-Arbor Childbirth Ed!
Our 2-hour sleep & feeding class covers biologically normal feeding & sleep for newborns, safe sleep guidelines and location options (including safe cosleeping), how to maximize sleep for yourself and your baby, and learning to read baby's hunger & sleep cues.
We'll also discuss optimal latch and positioning for breastfeeding/chestfeeding, managing your milk supply, and red flags for feeding & sleep issues (and how to get help if you encounter them!).
My goal is for you to leave feeling empowered around how to care for your newborn baby, relieving as much of the anxiety/stress that can creep up around feeding and sleep. We'll talk about how to ditch the prescriptive, one-size-fits-all advice and focus on what works for you and your family. ♥️
This class is included for anyone taking Ypsi Arbor CBE's 4-week class, or can be purchased as a standalone option for $90 per bump/couple.
Appropriate for brand new parents or for parents expecting another kiddo who want a refresher!

What a day! Had such a blast connecting with families and other vendors at .and.bumps. It made my heart swell to see so many families come out and learn about their options for support through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenting.
Thank you to all of you who stopped to chat at my table, attended my seminar, or just grabbed more info to review later! If you signed up for my email list and the opportunity to win a 30-minute sleep consult, keep an eye out for communication from me in the next 1-2 days!
Also want to extend a huge thank you to , , , .moved, .kwashington_, , , , and the poor saps at the Ann Arbor Staples who generously helped me with last-minute flyers when my printer revolted, PLUS anyone else who helped me get prepped for and manage this event, and/or made it more fun! It takes a village for event marketing, too! 😂
And a big big thank you to the .and.bumps team for putting on an amazing event for and with our community. We hope you felt the love from Detroit! ♥️
Warm gratitude to all of you!

We're SUPER excited to debut this new collaborative package providing comprehensive sleep and lactation support to expecting parents!
No matter how you spin it, sleep and feeding are inseparable. As a holistic sleep specialist, I frequently see families struggling whose sleep challenges are related to feeding challenges that were missed early on! So I've teamed up with to help change that.
One of the BEST ways you can set yourself up for success with sleep in the newborn period (and beyond!) is to ensure feeding gets off to a good start. A prenatal lactation consult sets you up for success.
🌜A newborn baby who feeds effectively is more likely to sleep longer stretches on their own without any complicated schedules or expensive programs.
🌜Feeding challenges like reflux, excessive spit-up, gas, food allergies, and others all have a significant impact on sleep for the entire family, and can be addressed by an IBCLC.
🌜By learning normal newborn cues, you will maximize your own rest and well-being by not stressing over schedules or wake windows, and simply understanding your baby.
Connecting with an IBCLC before baby arrives builds a relationship so you already have support you can trust when your baby arrives!
In your 30-minute newborn sleep consult, all your questions will be answered about baby sleep, options for safe sleep spaces, night feedings and maintaining milk supply, and more.
Head to skilledlactationsolutions.com/contact or the link in either of our bios to request your package today!

A big part of what drives me in this work is my own experience as a new mom three years ago. This is a vulnerable post for me, but an important one. There were massive gaps in my postpartum care that majorly affected my transition into motherhood.
I thought I had educated myself well; I had taken an online childbirth ed course. I went to prenatal yoga. I asked loads of questions in my prenatal appts with my very caring midwife. I dedicated ample time to preparing for birth - which I don't regret one bit - but I DO regret not dedicating more time to preparing for postpartum.
A really important piece I missed: connecting to more local providers. Providers who would text to check up on me personally after my baby arrived. Providers who would be available for in-home/in-person visits for lactation care, who I could reach out to for 1-1 help, who could clarify for me what was normal and what wasn’t.
Because I didn't know what support was available to me, I struggled through painful breastfeeding and postpartum anxiety. Because I didn't recognize my own challenges as a simple lack of support, I internalized them as my own personal failings as a new mother.
It wasn't until I finally connected with a perinatal therapist that I was able to peel back layers and understand that I NEVER should have had to weather all of these challenges alone.
I know now just how many incredible perinatal care providers are out there, and how radically different the postpartum experience can be for parents when support is present. It's why my approach to care is DEEPLY collaborative, why referrals to therapists, doulas, bodyworkers, lactation consultants, physical therapists, & support groups is fundamental to my work. Because ALL of these things affect sleep & well-being, arguably as much or more as how much your baby is waking.
BOOK that lactation consult or PT appt. INVEST in that birth doula. PUT a postpartum support fund on your registry. ASK a friend to start a meal train. I meet plenty of parents who regret NOT lining up support, but very few who regret doing it. You deserve all of the care you need to thrive in postpartum. ♥️
