Saint Spotlight: St. Augustine of Hippo
Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Augustine, patron of our diocesee.
St. Augustine is one of the Church’s greatest saints, but he wasn’t always on the right path. As a young man, he searched for happiness in many places, only to discover that true joy and lasting peace are found in Jesus Christ. Through God’s grace and the faithful prayers of his mother, St. Monica, Augustine’s heart was transformed, and he became a saint, bishop, and teacher of the Church.
🏠 For Families:
St. Monica never stopped praying for her son, even when he drifted from the faith. Her example reminds us of the power of a parent’s prayers. This week, take a moment to pray with your child and for your child, asking Jesus to guide them closer to Him each day.
🙏 Family Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the example of St. Augustine and St. Monica. Help us remember that true happiness and peace are found in You. Strengthen parents in their vocation, and inspire us to never stop praying for our children. May our families grow in faith, hope, and love each day. Amen.
St. Augustine of Hippo, pray for us!
