“Just A Little School Doing Very Big Things”

The Christmas season has finally come to a close, and I’ve been looking back through photos and realizing just how full and busy these weeks have been. Between festivities, projects, traditions, and everyday learning, we truly soaked in this special season together.
Homeschooling gives us the gift of living the seasons, not just marking them on a calendar. We laughed, created, celebrated, and made memories that will stay with us long after the decorations are packed away. Being so closely connected to these sweet kids through it all is something I treasure deeply.
As we step into the next season, I’m incredibly thankful for the joy, the growth, and the beautiful moments we shared during Christmas. What a gift it has been. ❤️

📦✨ LEGO DRIVE for Noah’s Ark Children’s Home – Jamaica ✨📦

Our church is blessed to be directly involved in mission work with the Noah’s Ark Children’s Home in Jamaica, and we are committed to helping them rebuild after the recent hurricane.

To bring joy and creativity to the boys in the home, we are hosting a LEGO Drive!

🧱 What We Need:
• Small LEGO kits (easier for travel)
• Gently used sets are welcome
• New sets are wonderful too!
🗓 Please drop off all donations by December 1st at Magnolia Community Academy or arrange and I will pick up!

Your generosity will help brighten the lives of these young boys as they rebuild not only their surroundings—but their sense of hope and play. Thank you for giving! 💙🧡

We love to spend our time outdoors exploring the beautiful world that God has made — from the tiniest leaf to the biggest tree. Each moment in nature reminds us of God’s promises and faithfulness, just like His promise to Abraham.
God told Abraham that his descendants would be as countless as the stars in the sky — and when we look around at the wonders of creation, we’re reminded that His blessings are beyond measure!
Children naturally see the wonder in everything, and what a joy it is to guide them as they learn that every flower, cloud, and ray of sunshine is a reflection of His goodness

One of the beautiful parts of homeschooling is the way our children learn from each other. Our older students often get the chance to guide the younger ones—explaining concepts, reading stories, or showing them how to solve problems they’ve already mastered.
This not only helps the younger students grow, but it also strengthens what the older students know. Teaching builds confidence, patience, and leadership, while reminding them just how far they’ve come in their own learning journey.
Homeschooling is more than just books and lessons—it’s about building a family culture of learning, encouragement, and teamwork.

Also, there is just something special about catching frogs and turtles before 9am.

Who knew a pencil could teach so much about economics?

At Magnolia’s Free Market Friday, our upper elementary and middle school students are learning how everyday things—like a simple pencil—show the beauty of cooperation, trade, and human creativity.

Last week: Introduction to the basics of capitalism, socialism, & communism.
This week: I, Pencil.

Big ideas, small seeds—growing future thinkers.

Milton Friedman - I, Pencil Milton Friedman points out the remarkable degree of cooperation between people from many different countries, who’ve never even met, to make what appears to ...

🌟 Celebrating Hard Work and Academic Growth! 🌟

We are so proud of our upper elementary students who recently completed the Iowa Standardized Test! These students demonstrated excellence across the board—achieving well above the national average in ELA, math, science, and social studies. 📚✏️🔬🌍 Their results reflect the diligence they’ve shown all year and the solid foundation they’re building for future academic success. Way to go, students!

🎓 What is the Iowa Test?
The Iowa Assessments are nationally norm-referenced tests that measure a student's performance in core academic areas. We offer this testing annually to our upper-level students to comply with homeschool accountability laws and to provide families with objective feedback on their child’s academic progress. It’s a valuable tool that helps us ensure we’re meeting our educational goals while also equipping students to approach testing with confidence.

👏 Congratulations to our hardworking students—and thank you to our teachers and parents who continue to support them so well!
