Our August at New Generation Montessori

🤝 "I Belong" — welcome songs, finding our own cubby, rolling a rug, walking the line, and our very first Grace & Courtesy lessons.

💚 "My Feelings" — naming happy, sad, scared and surprised, breathing through big emotions, and decorating the first letter of our name.

👃 "My Senses" — smelling bottles, color tablets, textures and sounds, discovering the world through sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. And we closed the month celebrating Dr. Maria Montessori's birthday on August 31st — the woman who taught us to follow the child. 🌿

Thank you to every family who trusted us with these first weeks. We can't wait for what September brings.

🌸 Happy Birthday, Dr. Maria Montessori! 🌸

Today we celebrate the woman who taught us to see the child with respect, trust, and wonder. 💗

Her vision continues to inspire us to observe, guide, nurture independence, and keep the child at the heart of everything we do. 🌱

We are proud to carry her legacy forward, one child and one classroom at a time.

Maria was born in Italy,
with a dream inside her heart.
She studied hard to be a doctor,
helping others from the start.
She watched the children with respect,
and listened carefully.
She saw the light in every child,
and who they longed to be.
Maria, Maria Montessori,
you taught us how to learn and grow.
“Help me to do it by myself,”
there is so much I can know.
She made a peaceful home for children,
filled with freedom, work, and care.
Little hands were busy learning,
choosing lessons everywhere.
With kindness, patience, and respect,
she showed a better way:
Every child can build a world
of love and peace someday.
Maria, Maria Montessori,
your light still guides us as we grow.
We learn with joy, we care for others,
and together peace will grow.

Our first two weeks of school!🌱✨

These first two weeks have been all about settling in, building routines, and finding our rhythm. We’ve been introducing grace and courtesy, classroom rules, practical life, and helping children recognize and express their emotions.

In Montessori, we call this normalization — when children begin to feel at home in their environment, work with purpose, and grow in independence, confidence, and concentration.

We’re so proud of all the little moments we’ve already seen. Here’s to a beautiful school year ahead!
